Brandy displayed dynamics, strong control, range, changes in tone, sick, timely runs, and of course, harmonies from The Lord. People wonder why some of the best vocalists call her The Vocal Bible. When most singers are known for killer runs or crazy range, she is rare in that she competes with the best in any of the expressive elements of music (had to google that lol). Ask a vocalist to name someone they love in each category - the only name that will come up in more than 3 areas is Brandy. If I'm lying, I'm flying.
Shawn John I agreed that Bey can def do 3, but I don’t know that she’d be named in the “best of” 3. Mostly because she usually isn’t remembered/known for her vocal abilities. Now, don’t get me wrong tho, she is a beast of a vocalist - for that reason, I say, “I don’t know” lol And to say she can sing soul or gospel is... true. She can sing anything. But her singing is mostly ineffective (lack feeling) in those genres.
