Fan freakin tastic, super smart as usual. Just picked this up because we've def faked this crappily several times. No more baby!
You could have just said "put it in a compound clip and then take the section of the compound clip you want" to get the timecode where you wanted but no, you went above and beyond with the offsets. Insanity bro
especially if you want to mock up like a four hour video :p I would have loved to got to proper timecode input for the offset but I don't know if I know how to do that...
@@PatrickStirling What about 3 inputs for hours, minutes, and seconds, then just have
Time = seconds + (minutes*60) + (hours*60*60)
Forgive my psuedocode, and I'm certain it can't be that simple lmao
For sure that'd probably be the best way.moght consider that as a small update. In my head I had actual timecode in the inspector to modify but that's probably needlessly complicated

Looks great! I plan to pick it up. One thought i had was, since Twitch's vod/stream overlay is quite similar, it might be nice to have that as an option. Something that I'm looking at maybe modifying this to look like if i can for certain projects

It appears to have a bug. A smaller version of my vid appears in the bottom left corner of my preview window and the preset gives me a black clip after a couple of seconds pass. I've installed all roboto fonts so that's not the issue
I fixed by upgrading my DaVinci Resolve version to 18.6
I love this and I probably will pick it up, but I can also see it being part of a series. For example, when using this effect I quite often want the full RUclips page, with the player in it, description, suggestions, stuff like that, but that would need a whole lot more customisation.
Could also produce one for a TikTok player, Reels, etc.
The beginning of this video reminded me of an old Japanese Godzilla movie. But seriously - very cool overlay! Your stuff is fire!
is there any way you could make a completely customizable Player Overlay that looks kind of like Spotify? i have been looking for how to make it on my own in davinci for a while but i cant find anything.

I was looking for something that has a little bit of text at the top left but has a customizable transparent background like what you did with the subscribe button with a little time stamp in the lower right corner. A rewind play and skip button in the middle and a progress bar with a little circle kinda like what RUclips has when you hover over the progress bar that is completely customizable color wise.

Not sure how feasible it would be, but perhaps being able to split the bar into "bookmarks" might be a handy feature. Particularly for those who had ad reads or tutorials.
