LIVE! How to Make a "Clapton" Coil

  • Watch while I demonstrate how to create a "Clapton" Coil!
    All solid dead-soft copper wire:
    Base wire for first coil:
    - 9" 22 gauge round
    Coiling wire for first coil:
    - 35" 26 gauge round
    Base wire for entire project:
    - 5.5" 20 gauge round
    Finishing coil (this can be done with wire of your choice):
    - 19" 20 gauge HALF round (round will work, but will provide a different esthetic)
    Final Coil Length: 1.5"
    Tools:
    Tweezer Nose Xuron pliers
    Flush Cutters

    Adding the half round doesn't lengthen the coil?

      I can if you allow it to push the base coil apart, but in the instance it did not create a measurable difference.
