Unbelievable ~ Iowa Hawkeyes did so great against Kentucky ~ Caitlin Clark had more points at the end of first half then the whole Kentucky team combined headed into half time~ & they did really good on defense as well against UK a good team, well it looks like the big game is finally here Sweet 16 vs UConn Huskies, I’m pretty sure there going to win Syracuse tonight ~ Caitlin Clack & Paige Bueckers ~ incredible

Caitlin is a phenom. It is good to see the nation and the media finally catching up to that fact. But the rest of the team plays so hard and plays well as a team together. Obviously coaching has something to do with it. Who would have guessed this team would win 20 games when they were struggling somewhat early in the season.

Now I know why Caitlin wasn't a top 15 finalist for the Wooden Award. It must be for the Nation's SECOND best player.
No it was just because her team overall wasn't very good. To be a finalist you have to be the best player on one of the best teams. Iowa has no defense sadly.

@@1971stevan Yes and I think that's the reason why. Honestly, in my opinion I didn't even see Iowa making it to the sweet 16 and neither did any of the award associations. She will be very good in the upcoming years though, after all it did take Sabrina Ionescu some time to build Oregon into a final 4 team. I see Paige and Caitlin being neck and neck in the upcoming years, but still don't understand why people compare them. Their teams needs need Paige and Caitlin to fill different roles, so it isn't really fair.

I checked her halftime stats: 24 pts 5 rebs 4 assists 1 steal 1 block. Incredible but I thought her assists were low. Watching the video she clearly had 6 assists in the first half. Best half of women's tournament ball I've ever watched.
While I still think UConn is the better overall team, top to bottom, Clark might be the single most dangerous player in the country right now. Should be a good game tomorrow!

No one in these comments is talking about how Howard had 28/8 and 6 steals?
From the game films, it's clear that she likes to drive to the right and shoot to her left.
If the defender knows to stay close at 45deg to her right, it's going to be a long night for her.
UConn has a more balanced offense also Iowa hasn't experienced the kind of ball pressure defense UConn displays.

Clark plays her best against big, very athletic, defense minded teams. It is weird. Kentucky has a very good defense and they tried everything...according to Rhyne Howard. Howard said after the game that 'there was nothing that anyone could do to stop her when she is shooting like that.'

@@lecowardjames You are right...the team with 6 5 star players will probably beat the team with 1. The team with 4 4 star recruits will probably beat the team with 1. Theoretically UCONN's 10th best player should be better than Iowa's 3rd best player. Give Clark this game...she played great.
