Great video Bernie. We had bear researchers at our bear camp for 5 years. They said about the same thing as you did, They really got upset when some one mentioned hibernation. They always said they don't hibernate, but it was torpor.
Here in New England with a large black bear population and now in a long dry warm fall season with plenty of acorns seems the bear are still pretty active. Thanks for the informative video. I’ve been to the North American Bear Center in Minnesota and was at awe how big they are plus how tall they are when standing. Thanks again
Thank you for all of your informative videos. They are fantastic. I am in N.W. Ontario, not too far from your border in Minnesota, so our weather, terrain, climate etc, are the same. Your tips really help me get better with my bear hunting. Unfortunately the bears on my trail camera went nocturnal as I was about to start sitting in my stand, so I wasn't able to harvest one before our season closed. Good thing we still had a moose tag..... lol. Keep up the good work.
Years ago I found a sow and cub in a ground nest in a tight group of pines with no top cover with walls made of leaves and sticks probably 4’ tall very odd I thought.

Good luck with the moose!
So much great bear info. Fantastic 👍👍
Up here in Alberta I’ve seen bears 3rd week of November and -20C. They were still eating grain from grain bins.
Yeah there are always exceptions.
Thanks for the information you tells us !

It's surprising where they will den. I found one in a cornfield one time covered with corn stalks.
Great info. It's interesting.
Hunting bears is disgusting. Humans are terrible.
Idiot of the week award finalist right here.
