I would love to do a backpack trip but I'm not sure if it would be safe for me to do alone. Since the cardiac episodes. Do you carry some type of beacon locator device or can you recommend one? I plan on getting a dog but not right now. I need to finish my build first. But want to take some short trips in the meantime. I honestly wish I'd done this yrs ago and not at 60. Alex I really enjoy watching you. You and Tara are such an inspiration. I also watch Maria. Love the shout out she gave you in her live last week. Ya'll be safe and have fun on the trip.❤

You’re so kind! I’m so sorry to hear about your health issues, that is so tough :( and I personally use a ZOLEO SOS device, and highly recommend it! I can text or message friends and family with a prepaid plan that I can update or pause every month. It’s yet to fail me and it was way more affordable than some of the alternatives. Best of luck on your build and upcoming adventures!

Hi Alexandria, I found your channel recently and honestly thoroughly loved watching every single video that I watched so far. Your honesty, simple explanations, your van life knowledge, camper building knowledge , the way you present are all so so beautiful and are top level. I started enjoying a simple van life in my station wagon 3 years ago after getting burnt out working as a doctor for more than 20 years. I love this lifestyle. I am thinking of getting a truck camper in the future and your beautiful videos have inspired me.
    Thank you, 🙏❤️☺️, umesh :)

Well, you're a good person and you deserve to find potable water. 👍
It amazes me, all the gadgets and gizmos you kids today have access to -- it's almost enough to justify watching you, to hear them all explained. When I hit the road in '75, I had a Kelty external frame pack, a cheap worthless sleeping bag, an equally worthless tube tent, a palm-sized flashlight that ran on batteries, a couple of SF paperbacks, a salami and some bread, a water bottle, and a Swiss army knife. What a joke! No stove, no pad, not much extra clothing, and the knife didn't even have a saw blade. 🎱 Much suffering ensued.

Hey, I’ve been watching your videos for awhile. Thank you for all that you post. Your positivity and natural personality are really engaging. I am a 58 year old female who has lived an exceptionally independent life for a long time. I love what you bring. I’m only just “slightly” 😂 envious of the nomadic life you have chosen. Thanks for being such a fabulous role model for so many women - young and old. Both you and Linnea bring so much for others to learn. Thank you!!

Aaah, I'm with you regarding the annoyance of people parking-up close when there is a vast space in which to do so!! I read another comment about it being biologically normal for humans to seek company...not this one 😂 If I go out to places like where you were - it's because I am seeking solace, so I find it quite frustrating when people intrude on such when there is clearly the option for vast distance between rigs. I also don't understand why at 24hr rest stops people will park on top of me when we are the only ones there! Just seems crazy in my opinion. And if you're parked close enough that I can hear you use a pee bottle or snore - you're far too close 😄

I hate that. Why do people, in a variety of settings, pull up RIGHT NEXT TO other people.
Why don’t other people have the mindset that if someone is set up in nature in a spot that has a lot a privacy that they did that for a reason?! Why don’t some people realize that other people like to be alone in nature for the peace & tranquility and that other people invading your space & making lots of sound makes it impossible to relax & be in your own thoughts?!
Also, people parking next to you or facing you when you park in a parking lot to eat. Wth 😐🤷🏽‍♂️ Or when you select a seat in a mostly empty movie theater in such a way to try to discourage others from sitting near you but they sit near you in an otherwise empty row AND there are other empty rows?!?!
We aren’t all built the same apparently. I guess some people like to share personal space with strangers.
Maybe they don’t have the ability to sense the presence of other people 😐🤷🏽‍♂️

I think it might just be more of the herd/group camping mentality that a lot of people come from, myself included!
