Why is it whenever Bill Ward plays drums? It always sounds like somebody throwing a piano down the stairs, but it just happens to hit the right note every single time.😅😂😂😂😂

Great reaction. The original lineup of Black Sabbath for me are the greatest rock band of all time. The progression through their first six albums is astounding. All certified classics and albums that launched a million guitar players and as many bands trying to emulate their sound. Anything from those first six records is untouchable by anything they did after those records. You are in for a great ride with Black Sabbath. Bill Ward is one of the greats. Tony is a legend. Geezer on bass is a groove. Ozzy of course is OZZY.

Besides the song "Black Sabbath", I think this is Ozzy's best Sabbath vocal performance. This, and the song "Supernaut" are Bill Ward at his best. He's top 5 GOAT in my book.

Bill Ward is an absolute legend and hit like a pile driver. If you want to see him in full effect find the Paris 1970 live show. Bare bones set up, minimal lighting, simple straight forward sound , loud as F**k and they are on fire like no one you've ever seen. The thing about old heavies like Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zep and even the Who was they had a huge spectrum of ideas and styles. Check out more of these and other late 60s early 70s bands and you'll see what I mean.

Awesome reaction, Wave! Tony Iommi (lead guitar, flute, music) and Geezer Butler (bass and lyric writer) are one of the greatest and certainly the most underappreciated music writing teams in history. Plus, they had incredible chemistry between them on stage and in playing as well. This is even more incredible when you consider that this was 1975, when people were listening to the BeeGees and disco, and radio wouldn't touch Black Sabbath. On the album cover, Geezer (Terry) Butler is on the left (standing), Tony Iommi is sitting (with his Rolex, haha!), Bill Ward is wearing his wife's red tights, and Ozzy (John) Osbourne is far right.

Interesting reaction from a younger musician - his enthusiasm and surprise is extemporaneous. So much fun to watch his real-time joy. As a 70 year old, I assume everyone knows the original lineup but then I remember numerous 1980s personnel changes. Some Black Sabbath fans didn't know there was a earlier version of the band. Therefore younger musicians don't know the original drummer. Here's a little Black Sabbath historical context: the first Black Sabbath album was unlike anything else in 1970. The band was peerless. Black Sabbath introduced hard-edged guitar riffing that surpassed Cream, The Kinks and Hendrix. Now days, it's easy to assume Black Sabbath in the mix among their contemporaries back then, but that's not the case. That first Black Sabbath album broke new ground. Not to sound like an old man, but you had to be there to fully understand what happened.

Sabbath was very creative in their instrumentals and composition, do not be surprised by more acoustic music from them. I've been listening since they came out in 1968 when I was 9 years old. I think that they were at their finest when Ozzie was in the band, but I like the pure instrumental parts when he is not singing the best, if that makes sense. Check out 'Wheels of Confusion'.

Great reaction dude. Nice term you said there- easy listening metal. For some more of that you might want to listen to Sabbath's 4th album called Vol 4. It's got a vibe and a sound that is unique. Very heavy, very dreamy, with lots of great grooves and fundamental metal riffs.

Bill Ward is the most underrated Drummer. His name should always be mentioned along side John Bonham and Neil Peart. He is truly way ahead of his time. I had once heard that Animal from the Muppets as based off of him. If you watch his earlier live footage and you see he looks just like Animal playing.

Before he was a successful musician, Tony Iommi lost the tip of two of his fingers that he uses on the fret board of his guitar. He was told he'd never play again. He eventually had two thimbles fitted to his fingers and continued to play and went on to be considered one of the greatest. I'm enjoying your classic rock reactions. Keep up the good work.
