Found this a little late, you mentioned you had a discord channel, but I don't see it in any of the links. Just have a question about the joy-con metal brackets. Since I don't have a nintendo switch, where can I find those brackets? I can easily get knock-off joy-cons from Walmart, but I don't think they come with the metal mounting brackets. This will finally put my Latte Panda Alpha in with the 7" touch display.that I got from the kickstarter years ago. Been meaning to print out a display box or design one but this one is the best so far I've seen.
This is absolutely amazing--thank you for your excellent presentation style and clear explanations. You are a gifted educator! One day I hope to build a Raspi Pi laptop and although that's quite a different project I will be making frequent reference to this video for the relevant principles.
Sir I have question how to charge the battery after pluging in the latte panda and please make a video on laptop how to make with lattepanda with battery with 10.1 inch display
Cool I saw a video on a PS2 Portable video then I got curious and searched for windows gaming handheld and now I think I am gonna try and built one I'll when I save up enough money
I've had a vision of making something exactly like this and have a theory maybe you can test on your device. If you go into the windows 10 display driver settings and set the display to be 30hz max at 480p and then go in the modern warfare or any AAA game settings to turn on V-Sync to only limit 30fps, low settings, low res. Do you think it will be stable enough, not throttle and really play like the switch?
I’ve been hankering for a build like this. You’ve gotta do an intel Vega nuc handheld! It would be the most powerful gaming tablet or handheld ever made!
jordan secrist I’ve been eyeing that DFI R1000 raspberry pi sizes board they announced, it would be awesome! Also hoping they make Ice Lake G series single board computers with iris graphics
i bought yesterday from Ebay. barebone nuc hades canyon for $710 and i am a backer of the Smach Z portable handled device, maybe i will sell it, i like but i am not a big fan of the steam controller and the screen to me no ideal. For the nuc, i get Windows 10 pro $15 ,used 2x8 kingston DDR4 2600Mhz $45 and a HP EX920 M.2 NVMe 1Tb $125., its my first time doing this. I use to a big fan of the first Android portable gaming tablet long time ago and i bough the first two nvidia devices and following this in Dingoonity .org, no anymore, i follow the GPD Win devices no like the design and i always want to built a portable gaming tablet PC 10" display with two telescopic arm connect it a two part gamepad controller with steering wheel and more, but i do no have the skills and time and i want to use the intel nuc hades canyon for this. let me know what do you think.
Project-SBC now that is a board! Not quite as powerful as the intel Vega nuc but that thing is more than powerful enough to run emulators all the way up to ps2, wii, etc. it could also play a lot of pc games at very low settings. I’m so glad you showed me this thing!
hey man would it be possible if you could make a handheld pc build with nuc box (1135g7) board or 4x4 box ryzen board (4800) both made from asrock. it seems smaller and easier to make the 3d print case size to be same width and height with the detachable switch controllers.
I was looking at the STL files so that I can print them out and I was wondering, what did you mean by "Print them out with supports"? When I looked at the files, I didn't see any kind of supports on the builds and I have no idea to get them printed with supports.
@@HandheldHardware thanks dude , I was worried that the power supply is doing it just because of some weird pulsing power draw of the lattepanda but I guess it's just some not perfectly winded transformer , thanks

Love your work man
Hi
I have built this with a few mods to your STLs, how did you over come the heat issue ?, mine also has and nvme so gets hot.
I had swapped thermal paste, which might have helped with thermal
@@HandheldHardware OK thanks, ordered Noctua NT-H2, will give it a try.
can you make without joystick for playing android game
Awesome project!
I love it!
Awesome project !!!
Can u say a 8 inch IPS touch display that is capable for lattepanda alpha. Cos 7 inch is small for gaming.
How can I get the Nintendo switch metal slot?(in 5:00)
Hi.. is the tablet design internals the same as this one?
adamaze the two versions of the base? Yes exactly the same
waiting for more great.
Once the display is glued to the frame , is the panda removable without too much hassle ?
nistax oh yeah you can get it out the back side no problem
You should add an external gpu so it can be higher end gaming machine
What app did u use TO make a 3d object
Bappy Ghosh I started with tinker cad but moved on to fusion 360
@@HandheldHardware are this pc app. Do i need to buy the app
do you have a file for insetting the display so its smooth around the edges?
I was looking at the STL files so that I can print them out and I was wondering, what did you mean by "Print them out with supports"? When I looked at the files, I didn't see any kind of supports on the builds and I have no idea to get them printed with supports.
Jacobo Lopez thanks for watching! For overhangs greater than 45 degrees the slicing software should auto add supports
Project-SBC so if I go somewhere and get it printed, I don’t need to worry about it. And just tell them to print them with supports?
Jacobo Lopez yes of course, they should know the overhangs will require supports
Project-SBC sweet, thank you!
Does your panda power supply make notice when it's plugged in the panda but the panda it's not turned on ? Should I be concerned
nistax my older PD supply does this. It’s not a concern as long as the device still powers on okay. www.corsair.com/ww/ru/blog/coil-whine

Will you sell one of these I'd like to have one however I dont have a printer you name your price if it's not unreasonable I'll buy one for sure
Thank you !
How would you recharge this
Frojj Wizard it recharges when you plug the alpha into the usb c Pd adapter or via the jst connector
@@HandheldHardware ok, so it just plugs into the usb c port and charges from the wall?
Frojj Wizard yes, you don’t need to remove the battery pack to charge. It charges like a laptop at this point, plug power into the lattepanda and the lattepanda charges the battery.
@@HandheldHardware ok thanks. Is there anyway to see what percentage it is charged to without a screen plugged in?
Frojj Wizard there isn’t any lights, but you could probably make one that reads battery percentage and displays on some LEDs
