I was in Sanur last week. Lots and lots of work going on in the front, they started taking the construction fencing down on Friday 24 May. The locals tell me that Jl Danau Tamblingan and Jl Danau Toba Jl Danau Poso will go to a two lane one way system from Jl Sanur Bypass. A two lane one way system will increase car traffic speeds and make it very difficult for pedestrians and people on bikes.
You make a good point. Perhaps the developers overlooked this little detail. I don't think Sanur needs or wants Beach Clubs or Malls for that matter. Most people like Sanur because it's Sanur, just the way they like it.
I'm all for tourism in Bali, but these masks are i feel are killing the soul of Bali. Then also again we travel literally all of Bali and love local warungs and homesteads etc. Many Balinese i speak to wonder about the impact on Balinese culture now.
