I feel old 😭😭😭😭 I was 10 when that kit came out and snow globe soaps were all the rage. I had one that was fully made of soap. The globe was clear solid soap, the liquid inside was liquid soap, and even the little snowman was soap I think? I kept it for years untill it suddenly started melting and I had to use it lol
Absolutely loved these Katie! I have a soft - or rather, jiggly - spot for snow globes and these were fantastically fun! Am loving these videos of you trying new things! 🎄☃️💝🥰
I actually had this kit. The moulds were often dinged up and it took forever to get the soap out of the mould. These were best sellers at the craftshows I did. I made tons of soap with toys back then. This was such a blast from the past.
That was SO fun and cute! I love snow globes... I also wonder if that company still produces kits? If they do, it would be fun to see how their products developed for today's market. 😁👍
It's kinda weird to think of the year 2000 being so long ago. I guess my age is showing. What a cool kit! I wonder if the company still makes it today?
She says, “very, very old” and I’m thinking, “dang, how old is it?” She says, “over 20 years old” and I’m thinking, “that’s not old.” THEN she says, “copyright 2000” and I’m thinking, “what, exactly, is her definition of OLD?!
Well, when you look at how far technology has come in the last 20-30 years, especially in the last 20, products like this would very much be considered "old".
Well thank you Katie now that I know I'm old enough to be your MOTHER I dont feel old at all...... lol If your personality was the same when you was a kid to how you are now Katie you had to be such a joy to your mom and dad.
Katie, I did candy making in the late 1980's and had peppermint oil to use in chocolate. I used about 5 drops year at Christmas. It eventually turned dark like yours was. Also, I remember the shrink wraps being loose like that in the stores when new. Glad you had fun.
Katie your child like wonder and bubbly personality keeps me coming back and binge watching ur old videos again lol. Great job and please never stop being young at heart
I love it! Is there a chance you redo this soap your own way for the next Christmas collection (or some fun videos in between)? I figure if you get beautiful, affordable gemstones maybe there are some glitter balls for you, too 😁
that is so cute and i love the idea with the whole snowglobe ball just as an embed. i hope that a newer version of this exists! because it would be so cool to have this with fresh clear melt n pour etc.
Just seeing this video and love it. It just goes to show you that 20 years ago companies still cared about quality of products. What’s changed in 20 years besides there’s some really great things you can add to soap when you’re making it and we know a lot more is that a lot of companies just don’t care about their products anymore. A lot of soap making kits that are out there, of course there are some great companies that have some great products, would never withstand 20 years even being sealed up and stored in a cool dry place. Most companies it’s all about the bottom line so they’re going to use the cheapest things out there which of course would never withstand 20 years.
I LOVE to see you so excited about this kit. It was, indeed, super cool. I’d definitely get one if I could buy a time machine and travel back to the year 2000.
Honestly, I would love if you made your own version of this soap with toys that are actually full of water, glycerin soap that isn’t as yellow/cloudy, and a high quality fragrance oil.
Wow, nostalgia! Brought my snowman snow globe ball out for another year of Christmas decor. I refused to let my mom toss it out in the 2000's lol. This was so fun to watch! I remember using this soap and being so excited to wash my hands.
I love your bubbliness and personality! I wish I could hug you. Also thank you for having such amazing products! Your shampoo and conditioner bars have given me back pain free showers!
Question: does soap this old still work to get you clean? With previous videos of bath-and-body craft kits including demonstrations of the resulting products, I was a tad disappointed not to see these snowglobe soaps in action here.
Katie I wanted to let you know you inspired me to try and create some melt and pour soap to give away as presents this year! I even went to mad mica and got some eco glitter and some pretty mica to add to my soaps, they turned out pretty awesome
As someone that's about your age this unlocked a weird core memory for me. My grandma's friend was obsessed with this little soap kits, and I think she had either this exact one or something very similar. The whole little snow-globe in the middle thing is very, VERY familiar.. though I think hers was kind of junk cause the liquid inside the snowglobe thing turned yellow for some reason?
Those balls with water and glitter reminds me of when I was younger and bath and body works had something close to that. I remember that as a kid and the Santa one was my favorite and smelled amazing 😍
i would really enjoy seeing you recreate this somehow! like, make your own snow globes! since you love snow globes and soap, could be a fun thing to create for your home for christmas!
It's collectors soap!! Yep that sounds like right for the old school instructions lol. It was a learn for yourself type of world. Which is why we are far more detailed now
I'm so glad to hear that there is lab-made micas. I always avoided micas because of the way it's produced, but now I know what to look for. Thanks for that info.
It looks more like 1970's to me, lol. IN the year 2000 we went to Disneyworld. I was ermmmmm........36 years old...older than you are now. Gosh I WISH I was still 36 I think the globe turned out awesome and just goes to prove how long ingredients LAST!
I swear my mom and i did a kit like this! But it came with molds that you could set into place! I still have the molds and have been thinking about making stuff with again!
Have you ever thought of getting into making your own soap kit's like this? I've seen slime makers start out selling and making all their products, and now they have slime kit's that are sold in Walmart's, and Targets, ect. I think that would be so amazing 😍
I think I actually like the blue one better because the bauble is a surprise for whoever you give it to. Makes it more special. I got a soap kit a few years ago and the melt and pour kept coming out clumpy. I did everything I could think of and no change. Any ideas on why it did that?

I actually had this kit. The moulds were often dinged up and it took forever to get the soap out of the mould. These were best sellers at the craftshows I did. I made tons of soap with toys back then. This was such a blast from the past.
You said the kit was 20 years old and I'm like cool! I love those old 80's-90's craft kits! I'm older than that kit 😅
Same on both counts, was a bit shook to hear it was from 2000 (how was that 20yrs ago?!?)
I always love how Katie and I were both born in 1994 😄 I love the snow globe soap!
That was SO fun and cute!
I love snow globes...
I also wonder if that company still produces kits?
If they do, it would be fun to see how their products developed for today's market.
😁👍
After watching this I NEED a soap that smells like Elmer's glue and a really nice teacher.
I love it a little gift inside
It's kinda weird to think of the year 2000 being so long ago. I guess my age is showing. What a cool kit! I wonder if the company still makes it today?
I wonder!!
OMG!! Your daughter is the spitting image of you!! She is so beautiful!! Just like her mom!!
We NEED modern soap snow globe kits like this it’s amazing
She says, “very, very old” and I’m thinking, “dang, how old is it?” She says, “over 20 years old” and I’m thinking, “that’s not old.” THEN she says, “copyright 2000” and I’m thinking, “what, exactly, is her definition of OLD?!
Well, when you look at how far technology has come in the last 20-30 years, especially in the last 20, products like this would very much be considered "old".
I don’t know what you’re on about, I’m 20 and this kit is older than me by about a year!
I think it’s kinda funny that 20yo people are not old, but 20yo products are super duper old
Right?? Like wait, how young is she?!
Well thank you Katie now that I know I'm old enough to be your MOTHER I dont feel old at all...... lol If your personality was the same when you was a kid to how you are now Katie you had to be such a joy to your mom and dad.
Katie, you can heat the molds with heat gum or hot water so that the molds can be adjusted and remove the deformity 😉❤
I love the idea of a snow globe soap, such a cool idea
🤩🤩🤩
Katie, I did candy making in the late 1980's and had peppermint oil to use in chocolate. I used about 5 drops year at Christmas. It eventually turned dark like yours was. Also, I remember the shrink wraps being loose like that in the stores when new. Glad you had fun.
Katie your child like wonder and bubbly personality keeps me coming back and binge watching ur old videos again lol. Great job and please never stop being young at heart
I love it! Is there a chance you redo this soap your own way for the next Christmas collection (or some fun videos in between)? I figure if you get beautiful, affordable gemstones maybe there are some glitter balls for you, too 😁
VINTAGE! Ancient History! From the year 2000!
Now I feel super old 😭
This was so much fun! I was not expecting it to work
I LOVE these soap making kit videos. It's fun to see what these kits have to offer and how the soap will come out
You should do a soap using only ingredients from Hobby Lobby Michaels, love this vid!
that is so cute and i love the idea with the whole snowglobe ball just as an embed. i hope that a newer version of this exists! because it would be so cool to have this with fresh clear melt n pour etc.
Those ended up SO cute!! The perfect little whimsical craft!
Soapmas is my favourite time of year! This was so fun!!! What a fab kit!
Yes!! All the glitter! 🌟🌟🌟
Absolutely enjoyed, I love your creativity and knowledge on modernizing!!
WOO! just what I needed to watch while I feed my newborn!
Awwww 🥰
7:44 I saw pasta when it was previewing the video in the thumbnail and I was so confused thinking she was going to make soap with macaroni lol
i love that you did the original first, but also then did your own version. i really appreciated that, and it made the video fun lol
The whole little snow-globe in the middle thing is very, VERY familiar.. though I think hers was kind of junk cause the liquid inside the snowglobe thing turned yellow for some reason?
i love how your eyes light up when you do something fun.
Katie, I love you, but I was so excited to see Lilly! I was just thinking the other day that it is time for another mom & daughter craft. 😊
Keep you eyes peeled throughout soapmas! 😍
You did amazing thanks for all the uplifting message ,
Those balls with water and glitter reminds me of when I was younger and bath and body works had something close to that. I remember that as a kid and the Santa one was my favorite and smelled amazing 😍
Yes more old vintage crafts would be fun 🤩
I usually don’t like glitter but that light blue one turned out beautiful! It’s like a magical blizzard.
😂😂😂
i would really enjoy seeing you recreate this somehow! like, make your own snow globes! since you love snow globes and soap, could be a fun thing to create for your home for christmas!
Gosh I WISH I was still 36
I think the globe turned out awesome and just goes to prove how long ingredients LAST!
More craft kits, more craft kits, more craft kits 😍😍😍😍
Merry Christmas Katie and to your entire family. God bless you sweet lady!
I saw that title and thought oh cool a kit from the 80s, and then you said 2000 and was suddenly overwhelmed by the concept of time passing
I swear my mom and i did a kit like this! But it came with molds that you could set into place! I still have the molds and have been thinking about making stuff with again!
Love that she's doing this as if everyone is going to be doing 20 year old soap kits :)
Blast from the soap past!! Awesome video!!
Have you ever thought of getting into making your own soap kit's like this? I've seen slime makers start out selling and making all their products, and now they have slime kit's that are sold in Walmart's, and Targets, ect. I think that would be so amazing 😍
I would LOVE to see you make a transparent soap that is like a galaxy. With blue and purple glitter in different layers, maybe swirled 😍....PLEASE
I think I actually like the blue one better because the bauble is a surprise for whoever you give it to. Makes it more special. I got a soap kit a few years ago and the melt and pour kept coming out clumpy. I did everything I could think of and no change. Any ideas on why it did that?
