    People forget that braids, no matter how big or small they are, it takes TIME and PATIENCE to complete the average person's entire head. Whether it's in a shop or at home, the standard time it takes will be between 8-10 hours, especially if it's being completed by ONE person and less time if 2 or more people are doing it. So if anyone don't have time or patience to sit long enough for braids, shouldn't even be asking for this type of hairstyling PERIOD! But it seems u can't please everyone, but keep up the amazing work @beautycanbraid 😁😁🤗

  • @syrgirl
    @syrgirl 8 лет назад +47

    Why does it make me feel better that it took 8 hours? I used to refuse clients because of the length of time they DIDN'T want to sit in the chair and for Beautycanbraid, a master, to take as long as I do makes me super confident.

    OK, so you grip the hair like starting a cornrow. That makes sense to do it that way. You won't have a sliding braid as you tug on it over time. will try this on a clients hair tomorrow. thanks for sharing. great work 👍

    • @13bullshit
      @13bullshit 8 лет назад +1

      +MsLiPrettyAsCanBe technically yes, but I think it's the fact that you do it sort of step by step it allows you to be more efficient and lose less time in between p. Not sure how to explain but to me, it makes it faster

    • @aukura2948

      +Jalondria Nettles It's usually done just to get all the braids in and out the way incase the client wants to take a break and can't finish it all in one sitting. That way it's still wearable and they can just put it in a ponytail and finish braiding it down later if they need to run somewhere in the meantime...

  • @Faithspective

    This video is very helpful. First, your instructions were clear, without you using your voice to explain. That's awesome! Also, I understand now that using the diamond parting method helps give you the same sized parts every time. And when you incorporate the Xpressions hair into the person's hair, you are almost cornrowing the hair together until you get a secure grip on the roots. It makes the braid look as if it's growing from the roots. I think I got the hang of it from watching this video. Thanks again!

      The weave has to be proportional to your natural hair. The bigger the part the more weave you will need ( or it won't look right).

    I have fine curly hair (not kinky whatsoever), are box braids too heavy for fine hair? I'm iust worried they will pull out my hair because it is not thick and textured

      Super Saiyan5691 you just won't be able to keep your braids in too long. also don't use too much braiding hair on ur hair. so pretty much large parts will be safe for you..with medium sized attachment. but I wouldn't recommend you keep the edges in longer than 3 weeks before getting a touch up or just letting them breath for a couple days

      @cori.5691 8 лет назад +1

      Blessing may I had ended up getting them a couple months ago and you couldn't be more right, I couldn't keep them in for that long and I used too much hair (without knowing of course) and it was too heavy for my hair. I had to take them out about 2 weeks after, but I'm thankful because my edges needed that weight off. I will be getting them again just less heavy. Thank you for your advice!

      Super Saiyan5691 honestly if you aren't black it may hurt your hair. If looking cute is more important than keeping your hair then go for it! :)

    Very well done and neat...The only thing that bothers me is when people braid like this its like they start it like a braid. This type of plaiting pops the clients hair and they client don't really know this.. Plus you can barely put it in a pony tail because of the direction the braid/plait was braided in. Overall this was darn good. I just would have made my front parts closer together because I don't like the space look either.

    So a bit of natural hair is in each of the three strands instead of just one?

    • @jazzcatt
      @jazzcatt 8 лет назад

      +Shanea McLennan I have found that it depends on a few factors 1. Your hair type; Is it fine, thin and and soft or thick and course. 2. How tightly you braid. Loose braiding will tend to slip, especially with fine, thin, natural hair. 3. How large of a section you are parting and how much braid hair you are using with each braid. That is trial and error. What I have found that seems to work for all types is making sure your own hair is split into two pieces. Splitting it into three can make removal more difficult with braids that are small. It can be a good thing to split your hair into three if splitting it into two makes the sections too uneven in size.

      I like the 3 strands of natural hair w/ the 3 strands of added hair which I believe is called the 3-strand method over the 2-strand method where u use ur own natural hair as the 3rd strand b/c u will end up having to borrow hair with the 2-strand method & it can look a bit tacky in my opinion. She showed 2 different ways of doing the 3-strand method...the 1st time she put her natural hair in the middle to make a 4th strand which she incorporated as she started braiding. The 2nd time she separated the natural hair into 3 strands to go w/ each strand of the added hair & just braided down as normal. Hope this helps 😬

    Dear @beautycanbraid your skills are unmatched and you most definitely should look into creating your own braiding magazine or book. Don't minimize your exposure to just RUclips or Instagram, MAXIMIZE it. Think book, hair shows, touring...ect. Whenever I see those braiding magazines in salons I always think of your work.
    sincerely
