People forget that braids, no matter how big or small they are, it takes TIME and PATIENCE to complete the average person's entire head. Whether it's in a shop or at home, the standard time it takes will be between 8-10 hours, especially if it's being completed by ONE person and less time if 2 or more people are doing it. So if anyone don't have time or patience to sit long enough for braids, shouldn't even be asking for this type of hairstyling PERIOD! But it seems u can't please everyone, but keep up the amazing work @beautycanbraid 😁😁🤗
Why does it make me feel better that it took 8 hours? I used to refuse clients because of the length of time they DIDN'T want to sit in the chair and for Beautycanbraid, a master, to take as long as I do makes me super confident.
OK, so you grip the hair like starting a cornrow. That makes sense to do it that way. You won't have a sliding braid as you tug on it over time. will try this on a clients hair tomorrow. thanks for sharing. great work 👍
Thank you for sharing. In you box braids 101 can you share how you get all of the braids the same size and how your parts look like diamonds? Thank you.
Use the same hand pressure. If you braid tight and loose on the same braid, it won't be smooth. And make sure you're clearing the tangles along the way 😊
To add to what StephWells said...u also need an even amount of hair in each section. If it's uneven then the braids will look uneven because of the different amount of hair in each section. Don't try and braid fast when u are learning. Good luck hun
Thank you so much I just got finish braiding my daughter hair and I can't believe how good it look. This video help so much. I watch this video like 20x's. Once I got started it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. I don't see how you do this all the time me hands hurt so bar now but thanks a million.
+LadyApril101 actually yes it should why do u say it shouldn't? doesn't make since if you braid with only two sections I bet your braids are ugly & loose that's amateur braiding I braided like that in 6th grade when I first was learning lol but to each it's own I guess lol
+Beautycanbraid i was wondering is it faster for you to start all of your braids then go back and finish them? i am all about faster techniques it usually takes me 12 hours
you're just in time. I have to do these on a client in the morning. Is there any way that you can do a video on how to do the triangle parting in the future? please.
Hey! Why do you stop the braid halfway down and go on to the next braid, is it faster to do it that way? I'm looking for techniques to try out that may work for me (:
+MsLiPrettyAsCanBe technically yes, but I think it's the fact that you do it sort of step by step it allows you to be more efficient and lose less time in between p. Not sure how to explain but to me, it makes it faster
+Jalondria Nettles It's usually done just to get all the braids in and out the way incase the client wants to take a break and can't finish it all in one sitting. That way it's still wearable and they can just put it in a ponytail and finish braiding it down later if they need to run somewhere in the meantime...
This video is very helpful. First, your instructions were clear, without you using your voice to explain. That's awesome! Also, I understand now that using the diamond parting method helps give you the same sized parts every time. And when you incorporate the Xpressions hair into the person's hair, you are almost cornrowing the hair together until you get a secure grip on the roots. It makes the braid look as if it's growing from the roots. I think I got the hang of it from watching this video. Thanks again!
Dunno if anyone gives a shit but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream all the latest movies on Instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my girlfriend for the last weeks =)
uggghhhhh! You make this look sooooo easy! I get frustrated when I go home and fail at trying on my girls' hair. lol! I love watching your tuorials. Keep 'em coming, Beauti!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful Work, once again!!!!! Question.....when I see braids being done, why is it that "Braiders" leave all the ends undone and then go back to finish braiding all the way down? Isn't that double work? Why not just braid all the way down while you're on that braid?
I always wanted to know how come people leaves half the braid undone and move to the next ... Won't that take longer to go back over all the braids for a second time then to finish it in the beginning.. I absolutely love your work I have learned so many different techniques... Just a question
Ashira Denise no it don't just make sure its not too greasy (my opinion) sometimes while I'm braiding I don't like to use too much because it makes it difficult to grip
Very helpful tutorial. God bless you. You are the best cos you really want us to learn by taken it slowly and showing every step of it. Many people need to learn from you on how to do youtube tutorial. Thanks once again.

Can someone explain how to grip the roots. I've been practicing but they always coming out looking like there 2 weeks old already. I don't know if I should pull the roots more or if I should pull the persons hair within the braid
Well you don't know if she already wash,or added produce to the hair I mean do she have to show you what she pit on your hair..use what you mainly uses

Do you grip the hair tight, So when you braid all the way down there are no pieces of hair sticking out the braid? I notice that happens to me a lot. But overall I liked the finish look and the techniques.
I really wished you have gone slowly and explained. It is not obvious for a beginner how you position your finger and how you grip the roots ... feeling frustrated and sad. :(
All of your tutorials are so interesting and they make braiding look easy to do. Notice I said you make it look easy but it's not it takes a great deal of talent, skill and sheer patience. Not to mention a live for what you do. I truly enjoy your work. Thank you so much fun sharing your work. Be blessed and keep sharing those tutorials they're awesome! BTW , what state are you in?
the reason she goes slow is to show us HER technique and how SHE does it. It's none of your business how fast or slow she braids. You get on RUclips and make a hair channel I bet u can't even braid
love your tutorials you are so helpful...is there anyway you can braid without splitting the hair into two pieces and just wrap the hair around your hair and braid?
Hey, I do really small braids and I assure you 14 should be plenty! I cut my packs in half and only use 4 so double would be 8 for tiny braids. If they are bigger you might be using less hair. I made a video of me braiding my hair, feel free to check it out. ☺️
i still can't get the gripping down. i know its split and then crossed with the other hair but how do you hold it to your own hair to keep it tight and not slip out?
I started braiding like this. The Africans showed me this technique. it last very long. In order to have big braids you have to space them out. Do you hun, your doing a marvelous job
I love your channel. My question is how do you get all the parts shaped like diamonds? And why look the two pieces of hair before you start braiding? Thanks in advance!!
I have fine curly hair (not kinky whatsoever), are box braids too heavy for fine hair? I'm iust worried they will pull out my hair because it is not thick and textured
Super Saiyan5691 you just won't be able to keep your braids in too long. also don't use too much braiding hair on ur hair. so pretty much large parts will be safe for you..with medium sized attachment. but I wouldn't recommend you keep the edges in longer than 3 weeks before getting a touch up or just letting them breath for a couple days
Blessing may I had ended up getting them a couple months ago and you couldn't be more right, I couldn't keep them in for that long and I used too much hair (without knowing of course) and it was too heavy for my hair. I had to take them out about 2 weeks after, but I'm thankful because my edges needed that weight off. I will be getting them again just less heavy. Thank you for your advice!
Very well done and neat...The only thing that bothers me is when people braid like this its like they start it like a braid. This type of plaiting pops the clients hair and they client don't really know this.. Plus you can barely put it in a pony tail because of the direction the braid/plait was braided in. Overall this was darn good. I just would have made my front parts closer together because I don't like the space look either.
You can put some type of grease or gel on your fingers while braiding I am 12 and my box braids came out beautiful I used clear ice on my fingers but don't braid so tight or so lose
beauty how do you protect the skin around your fingers. i know i dont braid half as much as you but the skin around my nails peel and its a pain when I braid my daughters hair.
Hey those braids are very pretty you did excellent, and im getting the medium-large size braids and i want to know how many packs of hair do i need because i have 2 packs of hair already
+Shanea McLennan I have found that it depends on a few factors 1. Your hair type; Is it fine, thin and and soft or thick and course. 2. How tightly you braid. Loose braiding will tend to slip, especially with fine, thin, natural hair. 3. How large of a section you are parting and how much braid hair you are using with each braid. That is trial and error. What I have found that seems to work for all types is making sure your own hair is split into two pieces. Splitting it into three can make removal more difficult with braids that are small. It can be a good thing to split your hair into three if splitting it into two makes the sections too uneven in size.
I like the 3 strands of natural hair w/ the 3 strands of added hair which I believe is called the 3-strand method over the 2-strand method where u use ur own natural hair as the 3rd strand b/c u will end up having to borrow hair with the 2-strand method & it can look a bit tacky in my opinion. She showed 2 different ways of doing the 3-strand method...the 1st time she put her natural hair in the middle to make a 4th strand which she incorporated as she started braiding. The 2nd time she separated the natural hair into 3 strands to go w/ each strand of the added hair & just braided down as normal. Hope this helps 😬
Dear @beautycanbraid your skills are unmatched and you most definitely should look into creating your own braiding magazine or book. Don't minimize your exposure to just RUclips or Instagram, MAXIMIZE it. Think book, hair shows, touring...ect. Whenever I see those braiding magazines in salons I always think of your work. sincerely
Can you show how to start the weave, like split the hair we saw but then u do something else with it before putting it on the hair. Can u do a detail on that
Heyy umm i have a question..I've been braiding for quite a while now but for some reason i do not know how to use less than 20 bags of braiding hair..everytime i braid my hair i use 19 or 20 bags..i have used 16 before but do you have any tips of how to use only 8 to 10 bags of braiding hair??
This technique is sooo hard for me to get down. Last night I tried doing my own braids with 3 packs of xpression hair cut in half as well... but I can't get them to be tight nor can I get my natural hair to blend right! Is there a different technique for my hair type, my natural hair is silky medium sized curls
Did you use any product on her hair? When I braid or twist my hair, it flakes up really bad. I mean my entire scalp turns white, even with peppermint oil or blue magic after about 3 days!!!!
I want 😢
I wish I could email my head then after you are done braiding you send it back to me
😂😂😂😂same !
I know right 😩

do you make sure your hair ( weave) is thicker then the part ? so it comes out the way you did it ?
RedBone Indya i need to know that too

The weave has to be proportional to your natural hair. The bigger the part the more weave you will need ( or it won't look right).

love the look but takes up my time.
How many braids did you do per pack because I do braids & I want them this size would 14 packs not cut in half be enough?

Savannah thanks I will, I'm on my phone so I can't click your comment to see your video so what's your RUclips name or the name of the video?
i still can't get the gripping down. i know its split and then crossed with the other hair but how do you hold it to your own hair to keep it tight and not slip out?
have you thought of doing this method starting off with the invisible root like when you do Marley twists and then start braiding?
I started braiding like this. The Africans showed me this technique. it last very long. In order to have big braids you have to space them out. Do you hun, your doing a marvelous job

How long do you take to do a full head of long braids just like in the video please?
+Ani Marreen it's in the title! 8 hours
How easy or hard is it for your to switch from braiding over to under? I hope that makes sense.
So a bit of natural hair is in each of the three strands instead of just one?
Hope this helps 😬
its always a blessing to see u use ur gift on other's may god keep u and keep blessing ur gift
do you start braiding underhand in the beginning of the braid or slowly go into underhand
so as you're braiding with the synthetic hair is her real hair part in three or two??
Hello, I would like to know how the braids are kept and how much time can be had, thank you very good job.
I am from Argentina
i was wondering how to you keep the braids straight at the end when you leave some of the ends out?
Dear @beautycanbraid your skills are unmatched and you most definitely should look into creating your own braiding magazine or book. Don't minimize your exposure to just RUclips or Instagram, MAXIMIZE it. Think book, hair shows, touring...ect. Whenever I see those braiding magazines in salons I always think of your work.
sincerely
I'm not sure if it's the texture of my hair but what can I do to make sure that my natural does not like out of my braid?
Do you split the natural hair into 3 pieces also?
I was wondering the same.
Can you show how to start the weave, like split the hair we saw but then u do something else with it before putting it on the hair. Can u do a detail on that
gret job!! nice box braid , One question
How many box braids you used plases sis
it depends on how big their head is. and how small or big u do them
+Ms.SelfMade tori Sis thanks for the info 😘😘👌
+Jennykey _160 120-140 box braids

How Did You Get The Braids Colored At The End.?😍💓
Kamile Blakely Do you see at 3:06 when she had the braids unfinished? She added the colored hair there and continued braiding
I love how you show the process over and over it helps so much!!
when u do the braids do u do them tight or loose, it looks tight jus wondering
That's what's up looks good! What kind of hair did you use?
This technique is sooo hard for me to get down. Last night I tried doing my own braids with 3 packs of xpression hair cut in half as well... but I can't get them to be tight nor can I get my natural hair to blend right! Is there a different technique for my hair type, my natural hair is silky medium sized curls
Great video but why do you leave ends of braids instead of finishing ? I am sure there is a really good reason as you are great at your job 😊
hi you do a wonderful job
may I ask what braid braid hair are you using?
Great video! Would you do a video on adding extensions to edges when braiding and twisting hair?
God bless your hands. Because of your videos i have become a better braider. Thanks a million
You're welcome
Did you use any product on her hair? When I braid or twist my hair, it flakes up really bad. I mean my entire scalp turns white, even with peppermint oil or blue magic after about 3 days!!!!
