Night of Too Many Stars: America Comes Together for Autism Programs is hosted by Jon Stewart and raises money with NYCA (New York Collaborates for Autism) to support programs covering everything from the intensive education kids with autism need at a young age to social training for adults who want to contribute in the workplace. We've even created a "Teach the Teachers" program that helps train more teachers to work in the public school systems, for the many kids with autism who can't get into the few quality schools that can help them. Many organizations support biomedical research to study autism. Night of Too Many Stars is working to help people who live with autism now.

I am almost positive Gilbert never imagined he could impact someone's life like this. I'm also almost completely positive he doesn't know how to deal with it. Which is innocent and awesome too.

Reading this now after he past just makes my heart weep. I can’t imagine what Owen is feeling. But what a beautiful comment. I can see it. He touched his life and he will remember Gilbert forever.

I went to college with Owen! He is awesome!!! His yago the parrot impression is hilarious! I made him a Christmas card with different disney characters one year. I helped him out with class work as well! He’s got a future in Disney!

Seeing this after hearing about Gilbert's passing. What an amazing career he had. And what a sweet moment with Owen. I'll always love him as Iago and the Aflac duck. I hope he's reunited with Bob and making the angels laugh. Rest well, Gilbert. You will be missed.
I'll be 55 on April 26 and I still watch Aladdin to this day. One of my favorite character's is Iago. Always cracked me up. I didn't know you personally but you touched my daughter and I with nothing but laughter. Thank you Gilbert Gottfried. May you Rest In Peace.

Wow, something from Comedy Central actually moved me for once.
I was surprised too, I was expecting Gilbert Gottfried to do a stand up thing related to Aladdin, but then I got to see this and I can't say that I'm upset about it.

Whoever put this program together is a fucking genius, an add the fact its for charity just makes it ten times better. If they did this once or twice a year they could put a big dent in a few different diseases. who knew Comedy Central gave a shit.
Actually this was put together by Robert Smigel famous for being a SNL writer years ago, a long time friend and writer for Conan, and for being the man behind Triumph the insult comic dog. His son was diagnosed with autism and that's why he started this Night with too many stars.
That's awesome, I know lot about Smigel but had no idea he came up with that. He's a good dude I'm glad he did that.

A tender moment shared between an extraordinary young man and Gilbert Gottfried. All the reason more to appreciate Gilbert, for not just making us laugh, but for being an advocate to a cause that hits home for me and for so many others that have difficulty finding a place in this world to fit in. From the low end to the high end- we are a unique form to a specie that is yet still very primitive.

Owen's father, Ron (seen in the video) wrote a fascinating book called "Life, Animated: A Story of Sidekicks, Heroes, and Autism" about their whole journey. I have a 27-year-old autistic son and it moved me and educated me in so many ways! I now listen to my son much more than I did, paying attention to the movies and scenes he rewinds and pauses and repeats around the house (he inhales Disney movies, Sesame Street, and Star Wars). You might find some inspiration within its pages, too. The website for the book is lifeanimated.net. From one parent in the trenches to another, the best of luck and love to you and yours!

I am very surprised Owen memorized the lines of both Gilbert Gottfried and Jonathan Freeman who respectively voiced Iago and Jafar. He did even better because Gilbert forgot the lines he memorized twenty-three years earlier.
I'm pretty sure he's got the entire disney catalog memorized. At least 3/4's of it.
