That's really nice Keith. I like the way the grain stands out all round. Great video chap
Beautiful chest. Your builds are fantastic and I love your shop, you accomplish so much and you dont have a million dollars worth of equipment in a huge shop. So much more impressive. Gives hope to us with small shops.
You have created an beautiful heirloom piece for your family which will be treasured by generations to come. I hope somewhere inconspicuous you have signed and dated it to help your children's children to appreciate something that grandad made all those years ago.
+UK Tony thank you!! I didn't, but I will now :-)
WOW!!!!! This is now my absolute favourite "rag 'n' bone" vid. that blanket box looks amazing. I cannot wait to try this myself.
Thank you 🙂
This might be my favourite thing you ever did!!
Great job!! Greetings from Poland!
Very well done Keith. The wax was a nice touch.
Big thumbs up mate - it's given me some extra ideas for a blanket chest I'm going to make
Really nice mate, glad to see we dont all need a two car garage to make some great project.
Beautiful piece of furniture. Thank you for the video. As an aside I really like how you present everything in such a clear and straightforward manner.
I have been binge watching all your videos from oldest onward. Absolutely love what you’re doing!! Your shop looks great after the “remodel”. This video is my favourite so far. Beautiful piece! Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
You created an heirloom piece ! I think your family will be arguing over this item after your soul leaves this earth. Truly beautiful piece of wood working, and quite inspirational to us lesser mortals who may just have a go !?!
You earned that crusty roll! Great work.
I think this is one of my favourite projects you have done Keith fantastic job buddy!
Congratulations on a superb looking chest. I also like the idea of hot-melt glue for a temporary fix for the piano hinge.
Your video's are excellent. Instructive and to the point and without the unnecessary waffling on you often get from others.
+Clive Bashford thank you!
Hi!!
Found your channel today, I like your "uncomplicated" way of building, just the basic tools and your builds are great!
Subscribed from New Zealand.
Cheers mate!
The chest turned out really nice. You have a great channel I enjoy your projects. I too have a small shop and I like it that you show projects with reclaimed or repurposed items. Keep it up! Thank you for making the videos.
Very nice really like the contrast between light and dark wood. 👍🏼
Just discovered your channel and subscribed. You do beautiful work with the minimal amount of tool or fuss....proves that million dollars worth of equipment is not needed to turn out masterful pieces of work.....Crackin Mate !
I want a crusty roll!
Great work and very beautiful box, I wish I have one like that.big love to you ❤.
Wow Beautiful piece to hand down as an heirloom!! Great Results!!
Nice job Kieth.
Fantastic! Really enjoying your videos.
Wow that looks absolutely amazing I'm both impressed and inspired Charlie's Custom Creations
Love that build, really great job. 👍
Nice work, I agree the wax finish all over finish the job off.
A job well done. A man after my own heart for saving money.
Really good job. Enjoyed that.
You've done a bl**dy good job mate, well done. 🏆👍🏼😊
Excellent, I really like that and you showed several different ways of working. Thank you.
Excellent project with a beautiful result. Well done. I would have liked to have seen dome head brass screws used for the fittings.
Hola Keith,I have just watched the Treasure Chest/Blanket Box vidio for I think about 5 time's, and I don't think I have made a comment about it,so I will make a comment about it now,I think it really is a very well made piece of furniture, and also very very useful,it will never go out of style, and nd it is great for keeping all sorts of household linen, definatley gets my thumbs up,remember to take care, and nd nd stay healthy.
Yes Sir that turned out real nice should hold alot inside of just whatever.. Think a couple of 6"-8" of brass chain would finish it off nicely inside so lid just doesn't flop over.. That wax finish I've heard does good job in a damper type climate too.. Here in the U.S western part wood tends to dry and split over time... Thanks for reading PEACE
Another great video , just going through all your videos. Keep them coming . Very talented
Hi Keith, just watched your blanket box/treasure chest for umpteenth time,it is definitely one of the best video's you have made, and it stands out a mile just how much you have lmproved since you first started your RUclips channel, both parts are a very good view, easy on eye and ear,and I have to give you nothing less than my 5 ☆ rating, take care and be happy
Brilliant work 👍🏼
Nice build. Something that can definitely be handed down.
beautiful work done
Nice work. I like everything except the handles. I think the floppy gripper handles (don't know the real name) would have been a much better fit for the chest.
Sweet results dude! There's just something with treasure chests that give a sort of awesome feel to them.
Love the build brother! Great result and attention to detail.
This thing will last. That's for sure. Great job!
I was trying to figure out what a ‘rebate’ was...and then I figured out it was a ‘rabbit’. Differences between English and American. VERY nice work!
Beautiful, it turned out great! I really enjoyed watching this project!
Great chest. You explain everything nicely.
Absolutely brilliant. Epic skills.
Well done Keith
+Mr Frog cheers! cat didn't come to visit this time but he'll be in the next vid
Looks awesome man
well done looks lovely
Man you've got a winner there that will look great in any room. I like your work and the way you edit your videos. I just subscribed and look forward to more videos. .... God Bless my friend.
Wonderful job! I think andle it's better to install in the middle of the truss!
That's such a nice piece, very inspirational, thanks for sharing
In one word - "Stunning"
A work of art. Well done
Excellent, nice attention to detail !
Nice chest! I like the rustic wax great job!
Did the lovely lady mention crusty rolls?! A ploughman's if she's got one. ;-) Anywho, lol, that's a damn fine blanket chest. You'd chuckle if I told you I paid £50 for a faux leather covered compressed card ottoman with unhinged lid a couple of years ago .... impulse buy from Amazon! Yes, they saw me coming.
Thats a really nice project turned out well
For me the side panels look unbalanced, but you did a great job, you are learning and I am sure you and your girl will like this piece a lot in years to come, considering the equipment you have and the size of your workshop you are doing a fantastic job, you also have some good ideas, I hope you will continue in this hobby, I agree with others you are good enough to start selling in trade fairs etc.
absolute awesome! but notice once : the Pine will expand a lot more than the hardwood. next time leave a little space between the pine boards to prevent it. worstest think happen is that your edge -joints cracks. harmful case will be deforming your surfaces
BEAUTIFUL
Awesome work as always buddy, keep them coming
Going to Give this a Go within the next week or two. Been asked to make a Towel Chest for someone's landing. My workshop isn't as big and only temporary until I move house so doing everything out of a garage. Not got a Thicknesser either :(
Great job!
Great job.... looking pretty swish 😀
Great work
now you need 100 pond of gold lol , awesome box man
+pieter dautzenberg haha yes I do need that
Great job, looks amazing!
I feared for your fingers with the upside down router in the vice though!
Good job dude
very nice! thanks for sharing
Wow you have really good ideas!
Espectacular trabajo. De ser posible que sea subtitulado al español. Gracias. Desde Rep. Argentina. Saludos.
nice work!
I think that is the nicest build I have seen on RUclips, your presentation was brilliant as well.
I enjoyed every minute of that - thank you.
All I need now is a crusty roll!
I love that hardware, do you have a link?
Amazing and beautiful chest. Good job and thanks for sharing.
Fantastic!
nice project
Very nice!
Looks great!
Phil Beaumont i
Terry ???
Gumtree Terry sorry mate, a combination of an itchy trigger finger
lovely mate!!
Just a suggestion (please don't take offence). If you used hot glue to the hinge/lid before screwing the hinge/box part you could screw the hinge/lid and the fit the hinge/box part in the recess you made. This would be less potential for stress and slippage when doing the hinge/lid screwing.
looks good
Awesome project!
Fantastic. Thanks for sharing
nice, awesome chest
Very nice
mmmm crusty roll ! nice job dude.
That's one smart looking chest. Can I have a crusty roll too, please?
Please please use a pushy with the table saw.
Nice job.
Very nice chest. Your videos are your (and our) treasures.
Yesterday I finished my poor man's table saw (circular saw upside down) but I ran into an issue.
The fence, perfectly straight and parallel to the saw blade goes from front to back.
With cutting plywood I had no problem but while cutting solid wood (11 mm thick pine) in pieces of 5 cm wide the
wood got stuck. I asked on some other channel and there the said that for solid wood the fence should go only till half
of the saw blade in order to avoid the wood getting stuck.
Now I watch your video and see you cutting/ripping solid wood with a fence going from front to back.
Do you not have issues with the wood getting stuck? Or did you have that kind of issue before and you found a solution to it?
+Hans de Groot does the circular saw have a riving knife? You should be able to cut solid wood ok but a riving knife will help it through
Yes, it has a riving knife. The power is 1200 Watt (1.6 HP)
that looks beautiful!awesome work! next chest i build i wanna attempt this style.really like it. look fwd to whats next..🍻
+Joe basementwoodworking cheers Joe
Rag 'n' Bone Brown 🍻...ALWAYS!!
That is lovely, great work ;)
Geez I wonder how much shipping to the USA would be for one of these? Great build brother!
An other great job 😊
when making a rebate whit the table saw you don't need to have a stop block you can put the wood straight against the fence it wil not binde
Like your style man :)
Cracking job 👋🏼
Crusty rolls!!!!! 😀
