    Thank you, Doctor. I'm having bilateral Ptosis surgery in a week with levator resection in one eye wherein I had an internal chemical burn in the early 80's which left me with severe swelling for two weeks. After all these years, that eye has severely drooped to the point of obstructing my eyesight. I'm very much encouraged by your talk.

    Dear Dr Kopelman,
    I am a 74 year old woman from Scotland who had Blepharoplasty Surgery 8 weeks ago. Unfortunately I did absolutely no research prior to same as I was afraid I may not go through with it as I have had no plastic surgery or procedures done before and realise now I had been taking Vitamin 3:16 E, Omega 3 and IIbuprofen for Arthritis. I was not advised not to take these things.
    My surgeon had said my eyes with severe swelling and rawness around my eyes was normal and just to keep bathing with warm water. He prescribed antibiotics two weeks ago and most of the swelling has gone but my are are still very red all over and raw and in my inner eyes and the right one keeps filling up with fluid.
    I am beyond distressed and the surgeon refuses to talk to me any more as he says I am overreacting.
    I would be very grateful to any advice on what to next to try to remedy the situation.
    Thank you in advance for your time.
    Kind regards,
    Marie

      Marie seek out a second opinion from an oculoplastic surgeon who is knowledgable about your eyes as well as the plastic surgery of your eyelids.

    If my eyelashes are stabbing me in my eyes, but my eyelids are not quite covering my eyes..just a little...would this be something insurance might cover? I don't want to change my appearance from it. I have always had hooded eyes, I just want to get rid of the sensation of things in my eyes..such as my eyelashes. If I curl my lashes that feeling goes away, but I hate using that thing every day.

      It sounds like you have Trichiasis where your eyelashes grow towards your eye. For this specifically you should be able to see an Ophthalmologist who could help.

    Would you recommend doing both upper and lower blepharoplasty at the same time?

    • @drkopelman
      @drkopelman  Год назад +3

      Yes! You can certainly do upper and lower eyelids together. I do that all the time for my patients.
