It's over filled and with that much liquid inside you should NEVER quick release right away, let it natural pressure release otherwise you get the result in the video
plenty of times it was hardly filled and I had something similar, usually pasta
@@jormacroughs3174 Because of all the pressure, the liquid is looking for somewhere to escape, hence why you should natural pressure release. The effect is much much worse when it's over filled like this

@@jormacroughs3174 I've just bought an IP and there's a warning explicitly stating that pasta and other ingredients should only be filled until 1/2 the maximum volume of the pot because starch foams in the instant pot can spray out of the vent when you release pressure. Specially Quick release.

Please do not fill your instant pot above the fill line.
It’s actually probably spontaneously boiling at the reduced pressure. What you have to do is release and keep your finger on it for when it starts to spray and then stop the release. Then the boiling mixture can settle down and you can release some more.
That, or you can just turn it off as let it naturally cool down.

It's not the Instant Pot's failure, it's the owner's for not reading the instructions

My instant pot Duo Evo Plus started doing this without it being overfilled. I did a test with the minimal amount of water to come to pressure... the same outcome. Since mine isn't an overfill problem, what is the fix? Do I need a new lid?
Might check the seal around the lid and also the seal on the pressure valve that pops up and down.
Food like pasta containing starch foams in the instant pot and it can spray out of the vent when you release pressure. The IP comes with this warning and says you should fill 1/2 of the maximum volume. This is a common issue with people who make pasta with the IP. Perhaps this helps. 😮

Looks loke a win for your dog though. Put too much water in? Ive herd thats what happens with over fill water at full line.
Don't blame Instant Pot for your idiocy. You are supposed to release the pressure valve while it is in the cooking process.

@@JourneysADRIFTIt's pressure. The pressure is still going to go somewhere. You might save a fraction of the second because heating it will remove the heat, but it's still built up and needs to go somewhere.
