Making the lineup backwards, continuing to use players who couldn’t hit when you had better options, and making bad defensive choices, I gotta say, I think Aaron Boone should be number 1 on this list.
Do think it was really Boone and only Boone. I think the analytics team and Ca$hman had some input into the Little League line up they put out there everyday. Would it have been better with Torrez and Donaldson hitting 1st and 2nd maybe but likely not neither was exactly an on base machine. This team needs to invest in some very high quality contact hitters preferably with a touch of speed to make the line up longer. Hicks needs to go, Ca$hman will never admit to his mistake.
@@matthewhall7052 he can lead off, but Torres and Donaldson can’t bat 3rd and 4th as effectively as Judge. Judge is far more valuable when there are already guys on base.

@@matthewhall7052 what did he hit in the playoffs? You Yankee fans blame everyone else but look at him every time they are in the playoffs Aaron Judge disappears
We're gonna need more than just a closer. We need a couple more rotation pitchers, a couple more consistent bats, and the closer. Can't do all that plus pay Judge $40mil per year. They should go after deGrom and let Judge go. More money to go around and more importantly improves the club.
Yes someone who can pitch every fifth game will make all the difference. My guess would be maybe if they got rid of all the batters that strike out 2-3 times a game they might be taken seriously. Of all their “big” bats none of them were hot at the same time or were out of the lineup injured. Has the Yankees gotten a season from Stanton that he wasn’t injured for at least a month of the season. A lot of money for a part time player
The only problem with deGrom is the injuries. He only started 11 games this past season, and only 15 the season before. He won't help us if he's on the IL.
Let’s forget about the season. Fire cashman fire boone. Get a new face in the front office and up on the field. Get rid of all the bad players. Sign back judge. Do some decent work in free agency. And just hope we can succeed.
Man, baseball is such a crapshoot... just two months ago, I really thought Mets and Yanks would be facing off in the WS. Instead, both get knocked out in the playoffs, one early on, the other in a sweep.
Good …:but sadly they will get rid of some and then go out and get WHOEVER THEY WANT IN THE OFF SEASON. I do not get it. WHY isn’t everyone saying this. ANYONE can win Championships when you have endless payroll. MLB won’t do anything as I am sure the Yankees are lining there pockets. It’s not about the fans. It’s about the $$$.
Same. He’s such a good player and person overall. He taught Trevino when he came in. And he also learned Spanish to be able to communicate better with his teammates. Love him.
Yanks needs are new GM, new coaches and a actual leader. I’ll get hate for this but I think the yanks should let Judge walk. Definitely need to get rid of IKF, Donaldson, Hicks, Chapman, Britton and Torres. I hope we get back Bader, Benintendi, Effross and Rizzo.
I think signing Andrew Benintendi is an absolute fucking NO-BRAINER at this point, unless he just doesn't want to play here for some reason. He's a great defensive left fielder, and could be the true leadoff bat we've been missing for so many years now....//
After the way N.Y. fans booed Judge in the playoffs...with the tremendous season he had; they don't deserve him. I hope he saw and heard that and when time comes to sign...he signs with someone else!

@@meg4458 right, but he can get you to the playoffs, where would the Yankees be without his production? Go ahead I will wait. @@thetruthfornow6045 I am sure anyone that truly understands baseball would tell you there is no playoffs without Judge, period. How do you get there without Judge's defense and his 62 Homer's, above .300 avg and over 100 rbis? You're the type of fan that would be questioning why in the hell did you not resign Judge and let him walk to miss the playoffs? No matter the outcome, you will find a reason to complain and have all the answers to the Yankees problems, why hasn't Cash reached out to you for the job?
It’ll be an interesting offseason. I agree with who you have predicted to be gone. The most interesting and biggest question for me going into next season is who is our SS/2B/3B next year? Peraza seems like a good bet to be our SS, DJ likely 2B. But where is Cabrera? He’s certainly earned pt next season. Will he be a Swiss Army knife like we signed DJ to be? When does Volpe come up? Where does he play? I’ve thought from the time we drafted Trey Sweeney he’d be our future 3B. Clearly he’s not ready yet, is there a stop gap?
Great breakdown! I believe the Yanks have most of what they need to win, they just need to piece it together better. I noticed you didn’t mention Matt Carpenter. I wonder if he will be back and if he is I wonder if he will perform like early this season? I hope they resign Judge and Benintendi. I also hope Bader, Peraza, and Cabrera have long Yankee careers…those guys are the future. Rizzo, DJ, and Stanton provide the veteran presence. New manager and GM couldn’t hurt either. Start fresh next season and hopefully avoid the injuries that cost us so dearly this year!
I'm an extremely casual Yankee watcher as I don't care for baseball that much but my family loves the Yankees. That being said, I watched Carpenter in the post season and wondered why they kept him in the lineup.
@@DangerFieldProd yeah he missed too much time to get back in form this year. But they kept him in there because he is a lefty batter and a veteran. Yankees stadium is a lefty friendly stadium and a veteran, in theory, will perform better under the pressure of the postseason.
Very good, you should be gm. unfortunately we have the assman, who has turned 3 months of yankee hot stove telecasts into the tv version of the book Italian and polish war heroes, by only signing rondon.1 danm guy. And I am one of these nationalities myself so just joking, for the whole mob out there.
I guess you feel comfortable with the mediocre gleyber Torres, I don't know how many more free passes he gonna get, he always lucky others players take the blame, I'm sick and tired of his lack of hustle and always swinging for HR
I could see them bringing Jamo back on a 1 or 2 yr deal if he doesn’t get offered bigger money. They like him as a human and his Leadership. Can’t give him crazy money tho.
I agree wit you on every word regarding that Bum A.Chappman I hope the rest of the MLB see his tru Colors & hopefully no one gives him another chance 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Yanks trade Gleyber. They need some pitching prospects and maybe even a pitcher that’s ready to replace Taillon. Torres is legitimately the only position player with enough trade value to do that (within the real of reality). They also have a surplus of IF especially if you consider the prospects. So they have depth in the infield, and Gleyber will probably never have as productive a season as this one with the Yanks so just trade him this year and let Peraza play short, IKF second. Live the content man, keep it coming!
LOL-Derek-Your ending comment about Chapman had me howling. Though it's not a given as much as the others, I agree on Higgy. Not hating on him either, but he's not that young (will be 33) and will cost well in excess of 1M next year (Spotrac has him estimated at 1.7M). Ben will be way cheaper and give you a left handed bat to change up with Jose.
NYY Recaps, I agree 100% with all that you said. Yes. Have to sign Benintendi. So Yankees can possibly have a starting lineup of Benintendi leading off, Dj. Judge, Rizzo, Stanton, then the rest of the team. Bader could be lead-off hitter too! Manager Boone needs to teach his Yankees team hitting and running, bunting people over, more sacrifice flies to get runs in, etc.
Boone would have to learn first all about hitting, running and bunting... and Cashman should be out of the Yankee organization. I'm tired of him bringing injured or has-been players
I honestly don't see the Yankees re-signing Judge unless he's willing to be reasonable (especially about length).. Related, if they do keep Judge I don't see a spot for Benintendi. I do agree with your take on Taillon though I don't think there's a spot for him (even though he's good)
Cashman on August 3, 2022, “I’m confident [in the rotation],” Cashman said. “My job is always to worry, but I believe in the guys we have.” That worked out well. Frankie Montas was 1-3 in 8 games eating up a massive 39.2 innings with a 6.35 ERA and a WAR of -0.6. Meanwhile… Jordan Montgomery, packed off to the Cardinals for Harrison Bader (granted, one of a couple of Yankees who showed up in the postseason, but not really more than an average starter in CF), went 6-3 in 11 games (63.2 innings) with an ERA of 3.11 and a WAR of +0.8. Not to mention how useful a 2nd left-handed arm would have been in the post season. Even if you take into account the 21st century Yankees undervaluing of left-handed pitching (and hitting), Cashman’s “confidence” in his pitching staff was pathetic.
I think you're right about all the pics however I would love to see Tailion somehow stay with us. However he probably is gone but stranger things have happened. You know. You never know what injuries and and he might just stay a little less to stay to the Yankee
As a Yankee fan-let’s go Phillies I’m so devastate at a person who put weird lines up in playoff. It’s a must win game and so dissapointed that Boone couldn’t take it seriously The young guys deserves to be called up. Volpe and Peraza need to be in major.
@@jerry3579 you are asking way to much, Phillies have not met great pitching yet and don't say braves they are okay pitching staff also you guys have the second best pitching in the playoffs astros are going to T off on their bullpen.
My opinion of the five Yankees who won’t be back in 2023..Aroldis Chapman, Aaron Hicks, Josh Donaldson, Isaiah Kiner Falafel and Matt Carpenter. This list may change. Gleyber Torres may be gone. If Anthony Volpe is ready in 2023, Peraza could move to 2nd with Volpe at Shortstop. Kyle Higashioga could be gone too. If Austin Wells is ready, he becomes our next catcher.
Been a fan since 1962...it hurts but they didn't play well this season, but I still love them...who else has 27 rings?they need to step up their game next season....
I think you are pretty much spot on. I wished that Donaldson's offense would have picked up. He is one hell of a Third basemen with a arm like a cannon. He has fantastic range also. I've been saying that Hicks should have been gone a long time ago. He has more bad games than good. He's not consistent.
Agree with the substance and the tone of your commentary. I do feel that Hicks has better seasons ahead, and if there's one dissent I'd make (no apology to the boo-birds at the Stadium and in the cyberverse), it is that he is not worth bringing back. But I'm all in on letting Donaldson, Gonzalez, and Chapman go for the reasons stated. Taillon is just an 'odd man out' in the rotation lottery, sad to say - and he does have value as a major league pitcher. And, as for Higgy, he's a stand-up guy, a terrific defensive catcher with some pop, and will be a solid addition to a team that needs a veteran to work with a young rotation.
At the peak of Bobby Cox' Atlanta run, Bobby went on record to say that baseball was a "young man's game.". And that's how he recruited. His legendary center fielder was 19 and possibly could have covered half the outfield alone. Bobby's pitching staff, "young guns" will never be forgotten. When I watch the MLB, I see fat, out of shape, men in their late 20's who have lost all desire to run the bases. If I owned a franchise, I'd have a "29" rule. When you turn, you're gone. Nothing runs bases like 20 year old legs. I never dreamed that I'd see the day when the entire PGA was in better shape than the entire MLB
I’d love to see Aaron Boone gone as well as Brian Cashman but this will never happen. For players I wouldn’t be surprised or saddened to see Gleyber Torres gone.
I agree with you on all your predictions (except Taillon) a couple of HM’s I would add (not players though) Aaron Boone and Brian Cashman should also go. Boone because he just didn’t make the right decisions and all of his excuses. Cashman because of his boneheaded moves…Getting rid of Monty and Sears ???
Tailbone is a wildcard on whether he stays or not. Letting him go will bite the Yankees more than Judge does. Pitching is that much more important over a centre fielder, even with that centre fielder being the captain.
Thanks for the video! Great list. I agree with all of your selections. I'm on the fence with Judge. I would love to keep him, but his asking price may be too high for his current age. If he were 24 or 25, yes, pay the man. If we can save enough money from the free agents who are leaving, then maybe we can keep Judge. If not, the Yankees could use that money to get better on base percentage guys. I want to keep Bader and Benintendi as well as LeMahieu, as these are the kind of guys who get on base often. We sorely missed DJ and Benintendi in the playoffs. We currently have too much swing and miss and this has been the case for several years now. The Yankees bats go cold when going up against elite pitching. Just make contact and good things often happen. Make the defense work. Yankees pitching has been great this season, try to keep the core of the pitching staff in tact. Key bullpen arms are coming back off of injury as well. Thanks again! Go Yankees!
Who out there is a better on base percentage guy? I watched many teams play this season because I'm a Detroit fan and their horrible, I decided to watch all the teams and there doesn't look like there's many high on base player's in today's game anymore. Strikeout or homeruns. Minimum of three to five innings of strikeouts per game, per team. Nuts.
@@seeseemun4528 Very true. There does seem to be a lot more swing and miss in today's game for sure. Everyone is more worried about HRs and launch angles then making good contact for a normal base hit. This is what happens when analytics tells you that batting averages and strikeouts don't matter anymore. Sorry, I believe in batting averages and RBIs. Cleveland is a team which believes in good hitting above HRs but they could only get so far. Houston is a team with a great mix of power and hitting. They constantly get guys on base and hit them in. I think the Astros are going to win it all.

Springer…. And judge also hit 300. So yeah, he can effectively lead off.
@@matthewhall7052 he can lead off, but Torres and Donaldson can’t bat 3rd and 4th as effectively as Judge. Judge is far more valuable when there are already guys on base.
@@theknickerbocker5808 I think they are both more at fault than any individual player, but getting a good manager would be a bigger help than a good GM. I could be wrong, but I think Boone’s mistakes outweigh Cashman’s.
@@matthewhall7052 what did he hit in the playoffs? You Yankee fans blame everyone else but look at him every time they are in the playoffs Aaron Judge disappears
Agreed 100%. Also Cashman and Boone.
I wish we could also move on from Stanton!
@@rykiachannel9317 I guess this Steinbrenner just don't care about winning. ( unlike George). So sad.
Maybe Cashman will put Boone at 3rd base.

#7 cashman
Please bring back Rizzo
Cashman should be #1 on everyone’s list of Yankees who won’t/shouldn’t be back in 2023. It’s just time for a change in the front office

If Higashioka leaves I’ll be sad
Same. He’s such a good player and person overall. He taught Trevino when he came in. And he also learned Spanish to be able to communicate better with his teammates. Love him.
Me too.
You had the ready at the gun lol
Yanks needs are new GM, new coaches and a actual leader. I’ll get hate for this but I think the yanks should let Judge walk. Definitely need to get rid of IKF, Donaldson, Hicks, Chapman, Britton and Torres. I hope we get back Bader, Benintendi, Effross and Rizzo.

I think signing Andrew Benintendi is an absolute fucking NO-BRAINER at this point, unless he just doesn't want to play here for some reason. He's a great defensive left fielder, and could be the true leadoff bat we've been missing for so many years now....//
Enjoyed your best wishes to Chapman !
After the way N.Y. fans booed Judge in the playoffs...with the tremendous season he had; they don't deserve him. I hope he saw and heard that and when time comes to sign...he signs with someone else!

So was A rod and he eventually helped win a WS. I believe the last one the Yankees have won. Pay him.

@@tundrastrong2689 you pay a guy who cannot play in October. The Astros will be there next October. Judge would do the same as this year.
@@meg4458 right, but he can get you to the playoffs, where would the Yankees be without his production? Go ahead I will wait. But they would all tell you they wouldn't be there without his massive contributions. Pay him.
I love your analysis man
That's my list also, good work!
@Johnny Mac…Rizzo won’t be with the Yankees in 23 .
Tailon, Donaldson, Hicks, Carpenter, IKF, Chapman, Gleyber, Gonzalez, Britton, and Judge.

Taillon was good. That would be nice to have him back
If not, perhaps cashman can trade young guys for starters
Chap, Hicks,Marwin,Torres,Donalson
You forgot one…how about Aaron Boone? Would Mattingly want the job do you think?

Gotta agree with these selections. Yankees need some heavy hitters, with speed and youth. There are a few out from which to choose.
You had this so ready to upload. As soon as they lost it, “upload”.
Definitely agree with all 5.....especially #1
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Yanks trade Gleyber. They need some pitching prospects and maybe even a pitcher that’s ready to replace Taillon. Torres is legitimately the only position player with enough trade value to do that (within the real of reality). They also have a surplus of IF especially if you consider the prospects. So they have depth in the infield, and Gleyber will probably never have as productive a season as this one with the Yanks so just trade him this year and let Peraza play short, IKF second.
Live the content man, keep it coming!
The baby bombers didn’t work time to move on Jeremy Peña showed him how it’s done in his first postseason
Mariners are looking for a shortstop that can play second base and Gleyber fits the bill.
@@Hardball247 yeah he really showed it well by ending our season

They should also be mindful of making the pitcher work for it. Far too many swings at the first pitch resulted in outs.
Boone would have to learn first all about hitting, running and bunting... and Cashman should be out of the Yankee organization. I'm tired of him bringing injured or has-been players

Pretty spot on
Given the way Cashman works, I won't be surprised if Hicks returns next season...
“My job is always to worry, but I believe in the guys we have.”
That worked out well.
I would make Cortes as the Closer to replace Chapman :)
I think you're right about all the pics however I would love to see Tailion somehow stay with us. However he probably is gone but stranger things have happened. You know. You never know what injuries and and he might just stay a little less to stay to the Yankee
Excellent! I hope you're right, except for Higashioka. Add Zach Britton to the list as well: just too injury prone.
DJ can be the third baseman.
As a Yankee fan-let’s go Phillies
I’m so devastate at a person who put weird lines up in playoff. It’s a must win game and so dissapointed that Boone couldn’t take it seriously

Kind of surprised Aaron Judge was not on this list.
Better not be judge, it will be big mistake the Yankees make
I could add Matt Carpenter to this list as another honorable mention
I think you are pretty much spot on. I wished that Donaldson's offense would have picked up. He is one hell of a Third basemen with a arm like a cannon. He has fantastic range also. I've been saying that Hicks should have been gone a long time ago. He has more bad games than good. He's not consistent.
Bwahahahaha the Chapman line 🤣
CANNOT STAND THIS TEAM!
Think you could also easily throw in IKF, Rizzo, Britton, and possibly Green.
IKF is going nowhere.
Spot on!
I think you are right on
I like your selections, but a few more should go. The Yasnkees need speed, a better rotation, a couple iof closers, and a new manager.

Derek, I also think Gil would be a great fill in depending on how he rehabs from Tommy John.
Great Picks,Can You Do A Video On Who You Think The Yankees Will Go After?
