Ive been in different fields of work using cords, cables, hoses of many sizes and i have seen tons of ways to wrap them up. I must say that the "annoying,improper way" as you call it, is the only way i wrap anymore. Its so simple lol 😅! If you dont like that method, your doing it "improperly" somehow. I love your method, its great and works! Just like all the methods when done correctly.
I wish I had spent the extra $20 and bought the one that came with that wind up wheel thing.
Believe it or not, this is easier to do if you hold the end of the cable pounting away from you, not towards you.
Point away allows you to control the reverse loop faster.
Over/under is for signal cable. Power cable goes over/over clockwise.
I don’t get it
If you wrapped a cord like that on a construction site, you'd be laughed off the property. A 100 ft cord would take you about 5 minutes to wrap. And you can be sure that cord will get tangled laying in the back of a truck.
If it takes 5 minutes you're doing something wrong. 100' 12/3 cable wrapped like this should take less than 30 seconds. If you've ever been to a large concert there are literally thousands of feet of cable ranging from microphone to speaker to lighting soco all the way up to 4/0 camlock feeder. All of this is typically wrapped in this fashion and load out is usually under 2 hours. This method almost guarantees no tangles and easy unwrapping the next time it's needed. I've been doing it this way for 25 years and it's been our industry standard for much longer. Thanks for watching!
If you were on a film set and you did the goofy crap construction guys do youd be asked to leave. Only thing wrong with this video is over/over is standard.
This is the standard wrapping method used by media crews. They deal with WAY more cables than construction crews.
One of the reasons paying nerd tradesmen by the hour can be a problem, and why so many dislike the principal looking over their shoulders to detect grifting.
Like being onsite for household tradesmen instead of allowing absentee work while the householder is at their job elsewhere, to prevent the knicker drawer being violated and paying for searching for a porn collection after checking for home security video.
Or it might just be too complex to expect construction workers to learn.
