The animations this episode were insanely good, I love how luffy is portrayed with the red eyes too in some scenes lol.
Luffy looked a whole lot more "menacing" with that smile, which was missing when he went Giant. That's the thing about the Will of D smile. It's menacing and mischievous, not Happy and Jolly. It's a symbol of defiance. That's what gives it its edge, imo. 😊

Mid? This episode of One Piece is one of the best episodes of One Piece I have ever seen. That fight scene was amazing on so many levels. The way they expanded the lightning grab part was mind-blowing. Then, to see the animation before the big fist came out of the clouds, and finally witnessing the colossal fist itself-it was absolutely awe-inspiring. I can't believe how incredible that was.

If ONLY we got that backstory. Yeah it would have made the arc painfully long. But I feel it would have really helped his overall character. But the sheer spectacle of his strength is something else to behold

EASILY!! I don't think enough people are giving it its credit. Maybe because we have so many dope styles in the show over this arc but man this episode and 1015 are the best animated episodes I've ever seen
The great thing about OP is that we will continue to get quality episodes like this, and eventually this episode won't even be amongst the best animated.

I think this episode confirms that Luffy can most DEFINITELY rubberify any element when he rubberified the clouds. Kizaru is gonna have a tough time. I honestly think that his Devil Fruit and its awaken is what’s gonna be carrying him to keep up with Luffy
I think the elements that naturally damage him can’t be turned into rubber for the obvious reasons of it hurting him instantly. But if it doesn’t hurt him, he could probably rubberify it. Unless Oda shows us he can and it’s just a mental block that Luffy is having
Agree on that💯 only thing is im worried about the speed factor when it comes to kizaru, it seems like kaido was surprising luffy often, but that maybe just luffy trying to balance all that power at once. I can’t wait to see him face kizaru, I hope we don’t have to wait too long.

The early parts of this opening is clearly a place holder once the new story arc starts. in fact the leakers said that the new opening will contain alot of visuals.
You have to give to the studio this shot of Kaido dwarfing Luffy with the red eyes and the purple Haki, Luffy might have turned into a loony toons character but Kaido is not a Yonko for no reason even after fight everybody and defeating them multiple times he is now giving the sun god a run for his money. Kaido is truly a monster worthy of the title *"The Strongest Creature"*

imo the anime made this chapter way better than in the manga not just from the fights but in general
In that moment when Luffy is falling after the blast and we start to see the flashes of those who believe in him, I'm thinking seeing it animated now how Luffy had the Voice of All Things but how sometimes all he could hear was yelling or almost a muffled voice. I'm thinking after the awakening that this is showing that it's now that at least in this moment he can hear everything from the lanterns which are carrying the wishes from the village, to the samurai fighting in the inferno below.
I really dig how terrifying luffy looks every time he is in the shadows.. like when the lights not in his face and its just his eyes bright red but then as soon as he is back in the light he is normal - ish lol... cool thing in the anime in my opinion

I honestly feel like whenever the series is over, the one arc everyone needs to go back and binge is Wano, because it’s kinda sad seeing in all these reactions how half of the story at this point pretty much falls flat for people every week, and it makes sense because of how long it is and the slow pacing of it everybody’s kinda already clocked out of anything that doesn’t bring us one step closer to the end of the arc. I feel like One Piece in general is better when watching it all at once instead of weekly, because if you’re binging and you don’t feel like you got enough out of an episode, you can keep watching episodes until you feel satisfied. Weekly you gotta deal with Toei’s pacing.

Kaido has more battle experience and battle IQ. Plus, he had time to adapt to Gear 5. Not many people could handle this outta nowhere.
Look at Lucci and how quickly Luffy overwhelmed him. Pretty much only Kaido, Shanks, Blackbeard, the Admirals, and Imu are a extreme diff fight.
