And hopefully inspiration for Microsoft to greenlight a new Guitar Hero project from Activision (though I think that might have already be on its way).
It’s trying to become a metaverse . You have the normal game modes plus save the world and then they added Lego, rocket racing and Festival(which is basically a mix of guitar hero, and rock band) and this summer they’re adding fall guys. Not to mention, there’s already a huge Disney verse in the works. That’s gonna be insane. It reminds me a lot of ready player one you just have to see the video I can’t explain it.
With how often Fortnite does updates (every two weeks), I believe they'll add more ways for this to be accessible. They have to be working on alterative methods, because it'd make little to no sense to have this even exist if only like 3 instruments can work with it. Yeah maybe they gave us this support a bit too early and under-developed, but I definitely feel as though it's only the beginning. I hope by the end of this year we get drums/vocals support, and more software/peripheral support.

I understand that the prices have gone up for guitars since no one sells them anymore and they're getting scarce, but since they're getting produced again I feel like they should be cheaper again, especially since it's a guitar on its own with no game bundles. Feel free to correct me though

Learned the hard way that it doesn't work when I booted up fortnite for the first time period and everything kept swapping between keyboard and controller inputs rapidly making everything unresponsive, then when I tried to rebind keys my computer hard crashed. 🤦 Guess I'll dust off my RB4 Rivals Jag for now. Edit: NVM that doesn't work either since it's for PlayStation, even though it connects fine via bluetooth, apparently only the XBOX Jag is supported on pc for now 🙄. Guess I'll dust off the PS4 as well.
Honestly, I expected Xinput be working out of the box on PC. Especially because they already worked with such guitar due to rock band games. Shouldn't be a hard thing implement, if you ask me.

The controller support in the game was weird. I was surprised how you essentially still need a controller to set up playing a song or emote in the game. All the walking controls with the guitar are inverted, and the lack of a second thumbstick makes moving around even tougher. I was glad how well it worked in RockBand 4, but I was bummed it doesn't have auto-calibration options. Extremely happy to have a new guitar, even if I am a little down on it.
Fortnite should have a leaderboard for the first FC’s. Legit they record the first 100 as the happen and then those are enshrined so that people can have some idea of the date and time of the history of a song’s FC. Like a trakmania, but not traking the lowest time. IDK if the Fortnite one tracks accuracy.
i dont think the statement was a result of the playerbase being vocal. i think it was always planned to happen but this is the first season with guitar controller support and they've always said they planned on slowly improving on that point with updates.

Yeah well, they are still dipping their toes onto this, its going to take a while to make everything work like it supposed to. But hey, with you voicing stuff out, they will definitely get there. Its hard to make mistakes with Himothy himself giving pointers.
When people say fortnite is a dumb game or a dead game I just tell them to give it a try because even if you’re not a fan of the normal battle Royale, they have a no build mode plus save the world, Lego, rocket racing, festival and soon fall guys, Disney-verse(will have marvel Star Wars and anything Disney related. It reminds me a lot of ready playerone). It has something for everyone and is probably the future of gaming.
Im not gonna lie, beyond the skill that it takes to use this style of controller the chart for Sandstorm on the standard controller is significantly harder, at least thats what it looks like
Not sure why but I’m having a tough time with the game dropping notes on my Fender Jaguar guitar. I’ll be in a continuous little strumming section of a song and the game will say I missed a note. It’s been happening sometimes on Hammer on notes as well. I did a comparison of Dirty Little Secret on expert in Festival and RB4 and on RB4 I FC it no problem, but on Festival I can’t even gold star it. Is anyone else having issues like this?
It’s an issue! Where you’ll be playing.. you have to basically hav ethe not held down kinda early! The current players just gotten use to it. Jason paradise mentioned this issue on Twitter.
@Acai How are you getting the Riffmaster to work? Are you using a separate application outside of Fortnite? I have my Riffmaster setup on my computer and its detected, but when I open Fortnite no buttons are picked up and I cant map anything
I bought that guitar for clone hero. My kid has a small hand and the frets at the bottom don’t work during the game, when I press any buttons at the bottom fret section it opens a menu. Only the normal frets at the top work for gameplay. When I first installed the guitar, the bottom one worked. Now it doesn’t. Any help please?
does the riffmaster feel better than a rb4 guitar ? i really dont wanna have to buy one id rather just use my modded guitar but dont wanna wait a year for them to come out with compatibility

If you download JoyToKey and map your buttons as what keybutton u have as your settings in fortnite you can use any guitar hero controller

Install YARG, it’s a Rock Band clone that works with Clone Hero songs and the Riffmaster works natively with the game with 0 problems
