Great video! Haven't done this hike yet, but definitely on my short list. Toughest hike I have done so far (disregarding weather*) would be Wilson Trail sec. 8.5/9/10, so starting from Tai Po, up to Cloudy Hill, down again to the Hok Tau Reservoir, up again and following the ridge to Pat Sing Leng and then a long but relatively flat walk through the forests (with ancient villages) to the end stop around Nam Chung. Did that one on accident, as I was under the impression you could not stop mid way (apparently it is common to stop/start at the Hok Tau reservoir). Beginning is very doable, but around Pat Sin Leng the peaks keep coming and really drain the stamina. Takes a long time, and a real heavy hitter, but the variation, landscapes and views are amazing and make it all worth it. * If you count the weather variable, some (what otherwise would be) relatively simple hikes can be grueling. I have done needle hill/grassy hill, and violet hill/twin peaks both when the weather was extraordinarily hot, and even though the hikes are intermediate, with the sun beating down they are downright dangerous because they offer very little shade. Especially as I see many hikers that only take a single 1.5L bottle of water...
Yes indeed this is a very long day and hard to complete in a day if you have to travel to the start. Not sure why they chose to end Section 8 of the Wilson Trail up Cloudy Hill as most other sections end at a place easy to get on or off.
This video is two years ago, but im here still watching this, coz today we are going to climb, (hike ) the dogs teeth mountain,, we've done the sunset peak and lan tau peak, so hopefully we can do this one, and thanks for your Video for giving us some ideas
We've been there but sadly I didn't reached the top due to hot weather. . But my friends did.... And planning to go back there again.. Hope I can do it this time.. 😊
There are three routes, the west, middle and east, in the video we did the middle one as it was highly recommended by our viewers and the view was amazing! Happy hiking and be safe, enjoy 2021!
