    You are inspiring me to learn to use my lathe in creative ways! Thanks!

    Found these on line after I made the exact same ones you made

    My hydraulic shop is not a smart as I thought they were. Not only did they not have the fittings I need, they were unhelpful, and laughed as I went out the door.
    Anyway, I found several online places, after much homework. All is well!

    Hey @Papajunk I don't suppose you could do a video on tie down points available on the miniex? I have one on order and will need to transport it home. I cant find anything online on how to correctly secure it to a trailer.

      Mine did not come with any tie down points. I made my own. I have two other videos on making tie down points on mine. One is here ruclips.net/video/HAJwe5d2M-s/видео.html and one here ruclips.net/video/iC_q0pCWUSI/видео.html. Hope this helps.

    Did you make the follow up video on how to adjust the valve after instalation?

      No I have not. I have been using it with it set with my initial 2000 psi setting ( system pressure is at 2500 psi ) and all seems to work good so I haven't changed anything. There is a comment that explains how to properly set the pressure. Unless I have a problem I going to leave mine as is.

    At 12:10, your goal is to bypass high pressures that are created by the inertia of the cab rotating and immediately stopping when you release the controls. The rotational inertia will cause the motors, to become pumps, creating pressure spikes higher than normal system pressure, (there is now no pressure regulator in this part of the loop, at this moment, you are adding one now for this reason). So, you should set the bypass pressure to 2500, 2800, 3000 psi, something just past the normal system operating pressure. You do not want this setup to be bypassing while doing the normal left-right operation, just during the STOPPING of the cab rotation. At 3:45, your system pressure appeared to be 2000psi. You could calibrate the bypass pressure at the end of your boom, out in the wide open, instead of under the seat. Raise the pressure regulating point until there is NO FLOW, then just a little bit more, again, your goal is to release OVER PRESSURE, not normal system pressure, or you will loose useful power all the time you are slewing. You just need a return hose back to the tank while you are setting the valves. good luck, Be safe. Wear proper PPE while working at system pressure!

      Thank you so much for a great explanation. When I get a chance to reset the pressures a least I have a idea of what I doing. I have used it a little with the setting in the video and it seemed to work ok.

    After connecting, any concern with air in the system? How to ensure no air?

      No problem here. If there was any air I assume it would just pass through the system and and be released when it got to the hydraulic tank.

    What is the purpose of the valve? Is it to slow down the slewing or rotating speed?

    • @kevincrawford2027
      @kevincrawford2027  4 месяца назад

      To keep from damaging the slewing motor and gear assembly by cushioning the sudden stops or changes in direction. The more expensive excavators already have these valves.

    At 3:02, isn't pipe thread supposed to be tapered as well? Your fitting appears to be straight cut/threaded.

      It's pipe thread. I agree in the video it doesn't look tapered. I used a pipe thread die.
