Where you live and how your parents speak at home has a lot to do with how you develop an accent.
Neelam is not completely Indian as far as I can remember.... She is a mixed race. Her father is a Gujarati. She was born and raised in Hong Kong.
It really irks me that people are giving her so much shit about her accent. No accent is bad dude. What you'll are doing is no better than those who make fun of "iNdIaN eNglIsh"... Or for that matter any type of English(French/korean etc.)
Her way of speaking coincides with a lot of south east Asian countries ( Thailand / Singaporean)
Of course you can also spot a fake accent but that only tells much about the insecurity the other person has so there is no need to judge someone.

It's not groundbreaking cinema, but it's super entertaining. It serves its purpose well. All the woman (except Maheep) are extremely likable

Well Priyanka is in the US, married to an American, acting in a show where she has to sound American. She even used to have an accent coach to help her speak like an American. It's natural very everyone to pick up an accent with that much exposure.

What language they speak outside their workplace is their business. On the issue of accent, people from different strata speak differently. This is how their social group speaks, and there’s nothing wrong with it. The same applies for those who speak in a rather thick ‘Indian’ accent.

To say this show was a cringe fest is an understatement. I'm not Indian, but I did grow up watching Bollywood movies as a kid, the amount of times Neelam's acting career was brought up .... am I missing something? Was she really THAT famous as they're making it seem like in the show. Also, what the hell is up with her accent? Its super cringe. It's like she's trying extra hard to make it come across as natural.
Their English is appalling. They should stick to hindi ,which is such a beautiful language. The British makes fun out of posh Indians when they speak English, its so uncool.my wife told me she need to read the subtitles to understand them.so please, please, use the beautiful language of hindi

In a country as diverse as India and also around the world, there are a lot of true really amazing people to look up to, they could be great minds such as Abdul Kalamji, Bill Gates, Malala Yousafzai, so many of our unsung heros from India like Kalyanasundaram, who donated his entire life savings for betterment of poor people. Kareem Bhai, etc. , various teachers, our soldiers, achievers in sports, other than just cricket. The list goes on and on. They work in silence and expect no fame or fortune in return! We must draw inspiration from such people who do their good with dignity and love for mankind. I salute and applaud such individuals and get inspiration from them.
