I am 70 years old , had some of it yesterday afternoon . This time of the year is the season for the ripe ones . There are two types a tiny one with two or three seeds is called stinking toe the larger one is called locusts . The tree is used in the manufacturing of furniture the fruit you eat the bark leaves and the shell of the fruit could be used for tea . It is said to have benefits in lowering blood sugar .

Unfortunately, this is not what the Bible was talking about when it speaks of locust.
It was talking about the mature version of a grasshopper 🦗, an insect which was and is still common in that part of the world.
This plant is not native to Africa or the middle east, which is where the Bible stories encompass.
As a matter of fact, the fruit is only called locust in Jamaica and nowhere else.
