I don't know if you were being sarcastic, but we do get to see what happens to Malprave. We see her at the end running towards Bond when he was running from the office explosion. She dies in the explosion.
Glad someone is finally showing this game some love. Excellent video! Also, as I own a few retro consoles, I'd like to contribute to future videos if possible :)
Check out my mod of this game called Agent Under Fire Reloaded, it focuses on the already awesome multiplayer mode but it also fixes the movement speed, bullet tracers, and sound effects in single player, too.
Having played the Gamecube version plent of times in my life, i can confirm that that version runs at a constant 60 FPS, during all segments. The only times i noticed frame drops were when close range explosions occured, which isn’t as big of a nuisance compared to the Xbox version jumping in frame rate depending on the amount of geometry seen.
I remember getting this game when it first came to the GC, was a bit disappointed, but overall, still enjoyed it. Yeah, the controls felt really awkward, forced to aim with the left analog when I wanted to use the right, and vice-versa, especially on the on-rail parts. I am the type that likes the challenge of getting gold/platinums on all stages in a game, and never use auto-aim. So, this game left plenty of incentive to explore and try different ways to complete the level in order to get a high score. I remember the multiplayer being pretty good. Playing on a level called "tower"(or castle?), with jet packs and all shotguns (Firensi?) with my buddies was some real fast-paced action. You said it best as it definitely worth playing, but not underrated. Great review.
You have an amazing memory, I'm pretty sure it is Firensi :D I'm not much of a completionist but this was the type of game where I could have played it all over again had I not had a deadline. It's strange to me the reviews in 2002 were pretty spot on, yet a game of similar quality like Land of the Dead got completely lampooned. Corporate reviews make no sense! Cheers!
Another great retrospective, though it's a shame you didn't cover the split screen multiplayer. I played this on the GameCube and the control scheme was just awful and I struggled to adjust (as did everyone I knew who played it). Fortunately, they fixed the controls with 007: Nightfire, which is still a firm favourite of mine, and is my 'Go to' Bond game experience.
Sorry about the multiplayer haha, I just don't have a way to cover those features properly ;) A game like Red Faction which came out before Halo I can excuse for strange controller mapping... but anything that came out after Nov 2001, I just don't get it. We'll get to Nightfire in the future for sure!
The game is using id tech 3 engine. And if you talk about the driving levels they are completely structured in the id tech 3 engine but the handling model is heavily modified from need for Speed's handling code
Thanks for the video. Is this game playable on the Xbox 360? A spoiler warning would have been nice though. I actually like the stories in the Bond games.
According to Wikipedia: "Game loads but missions are extremely fast in terms of frame rate. Makes game virtually unplayable." As for spoilers I definitely hear you. I do have a warning before the conclusion like always and I did leave out a plot twist involving one of the female characters. Hopefully that will be enough if you do decide to check out the game!
Thanks for the fast reply! Much appreciated. This is another example why I love that fact the first gen Wii is 100% compatible with all Gamecube games. Looks like I will be picking up the Gamecube version. As far as my spoiler comment, I know it was early in the game but I was referring to the death of the CIA agent. Anyways keep up the great work! I really enjoy your channel!
I'm surprised the Xbox One doesn't play Xbox games... But yeah, Nintendo always did a nice job with Backwards compatibility. Thanks to the Wii U I've been able to revisit the Wii library.
Speaking as someone who doesn't play many first person shooters, this is my favorite first person shooter. The moderately tame difficulty mixed with the variety of things to do, alongside stupid enemy AI which almost never made me feel too frustrated, I tend to see this game as a casual and relaxed shooter, whilst most games are like "take out 10 dudes who are all firing at you at once before you can move on" and aside from that the soundtrack is just too good!!
That's an interesting perspective and I don't think I can fault that logic. I do enjoy shooters but also find myself enjoying tamer shooters as well. Halo was kind of my gateway drug and I enjoyed the adventure aspects as much as the shooting itself.
implantgames Yeah, I only played the first Halo though was put off when I found out about the Flood, yeesh! Agent Under Fire's a game I can recommend to anyone, Halo...not so much.
I dont know if it is underrated. I got a gamecube for my birthday around the time this game released and my brother gave me it to play as sort of like a like launch title. The james bond game I played before this one was the world is not enough on the n64 and this game was certainly a step above that one. It was cool to see devs come up woth their own stories instead of following the movie stories and I have to say that they had captured the whole bond feel the best with night fire and with everything or nothing. But agent under fire was certainly kickass and if it recieved a lot of hate I'd say that was unjustified. It captured a lot the fast paced action that you could have in goldeneye on the n64 but this time with better graphics and with smarter npc's. And the car levels were quite a nice touch as well.
I do love this game, it was my childhood. But the thing is, thelow graphics don't bother me that much at all. Although, I'm more modern, I still play this game for nostalgia. Even with the polygonal graphics ,not like Crysis 3 or GTA 5, I only care about the gameplay and it's sad that the game was popular and now just a low graphic one to everyone. I just love this game.
I think at the time 007 still felt like a "Nintendo" game thanks for GoldenEye. As for the other multi-platform games I review I think it came down to your group of friends. We were always an Xbox group thanks to Halo.
3:15 Don't complain or even use the auto aim as a way to compare the game like wtf lol. Don't play on easy if you want more control then? Its their to help new players. 00 Agent exists for a reason. I actually prefer this 007 over Nightfire and I feel the graphics Look better. Also why are you reviewing the Xbox version, the Xbox version is such shit dude. Lower FPS even. The Xbox was the reason the game sucked on the console and also with the controls
I love this game but I must tell you Malprave is literally the WORST video game vilain ever, you meet her like once and then at the end she just dies in her own explosion duh...
I don't like this game. It's functional, but it does a poor job of replicating the feel of a Bond film. I hate that they didn't get any of the actors' likenesses and the plot is fucking stupid and way too sci-fi. It feels like it was based on a shitty Bond Saturday morning cartoon that never got made rather than a film.
implantgames yea, very nice channel you got. i give you an sub, hope you will do some more original xbox games since i still play that console daily :-)
Nightfire and Everything or Nothing are a lot more polished, in my opinion anyway. I'd love to hear your opinion of those as well.
We'll get there eventually :)
I don't know if you were being sarcastic, but we do get to see what happens to Malprave. We see her at the end running towards Bond when he was running from the office explosion. She dies in the explosion.

Glad you enjoyed the video! Just keep commenting and liking, that is what keeps me going :)
Excellent video, thank you Sir! I really enjoy your OG Xbox reviews; greetings from Vulcan!
Glad to hear it, thanks :)

👏 those are the main issues I had with the game.
Gotta have this playing in the background while I read Stone Ocean at 2 am

Nightfire was an improvement over this, and everything or nothing was the last good bond game and the last pierce brosnan related bond thing.
It seems Everything or Nothing had a lot of fans, can't wait to get to that one!
Everything or Nothing feels like the unofficial fifth Brosnan film.
GoldenEye WII is underrated asf
Silhouette of a bond girl doing some sort of chicken run at 5:30 lmao

I definitely enjoyed this review. Hope you do a review on 007: Nightfire and hope that said game is better.
Will do!

The Bond in this game looks so much like Sterling Archer
Lmao, it absolutely does!
The masses want the podcast to return!
The podcast will return when the time is right and the format improved. Thanks for the nudges though, I appreciate it :)
implantgames.com/implantgames/podcast115 Podcast!
The multiplayer is still amazing and has an insane amount of customization for the time.
The game is using id tech 3 engine. And if you talk about the driving levels they are completely structured in the id tech 3 engine but the handling model is heavily modified from need for Speed's handling code

implantgames Yeah, I only played the first Halo though was put off when I found out about the Flood, yeesh! Agent Under Fire's a game I can recommend to anyone, Halo...not so much.
And quick fact: with this game you can use a gamesave exploit and upgrade the hard disk and install the original Xbmc.
Right on. Splinter Cell was my gameplay exploit title of choice :D
*gamesave
Oscar Ponce Same deal on the PS2 with the Free McBoot exploit. Never played past the first level required for the save.
the game that taught me modern dual analog fps controls, very noteworthy for that reason alone.
Played this on ps2 as a young kid around 2004…. Good times
I dont know if it is underrated.

if you havent already... you should do one on Malice.

i finished on og xb too.i just curious why it's the most download game on theisozone
A lot of people forget that strafe/look controls were not nailed down for a while. Probably until Halo 2.
My friend owned both, but night fire was just such a great game
I'll get to Nightfire at some point, but I really wanted to get the first title beaten before moving onto the more iconic one.
Will you be starting up your podcast anytime soon?
No ETA my friend.
implantgames.com/implantgames/podcast115 Podcast!
Uhhhh... You're 2 weeks late. I already listened to that podcast. :)
I really liked this game, but it may have to do with the gamecubes small FPS library.
Yeah, the GameCube missed out on some of the better ones like Darkwatch and Black :(
Are you going to review 007 Nightfire!?!?!?!
I can't believe it's not Brosnan!
Haha!
3 YEARS LATE SQUAD WHERE YOU AT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
13:26 A giant turban! 😆
So hes not pierce brosnan??
It’s pierce Brosnan’s likeness he just didn’t voice him in this game
M 16?
It's weird seeing the Xbox version of these games because I feel like most people play the PS2 or Gamecube version of a game if it's multiconsole.
I think at the time 007 still felt like a "Nintendo" game thanks for GoldenEye. As for the other multi-platform games I review I think it came down to your group of friends. We were always an Xbox group thanks to Halo.
SailorVenusFan Xbox versions of ps2 version is always better
yeah I always got my bond games on gamecube mostly because it felt like a Nintendo thing. I guess on the bright side the ports were always good
Xbox has way more power, and the best controller for FPS games, so i would have bought the Xbox version.
@@chrisrichfield8906 the GameCube version plays just as well as the Xbox, locked 60fps at 480p.
I love this game but gettin shot is seizure inducing, on 00 agent u get shot so much
3:15 Don't complain or even use the auto aim as a way to compare the game like wtf lol. Don't play on easy if you want more control then? Its their to help new players. 00 Agent exists for a reason. The control scheme was horrible.
The default control scheme was unusable.
great game, i enjoyed it alot.
i think everything or nothing is the worst one from the xbox versions.
I'm curious about most of the 6th gen Bond titles, it seems like a lot of different developers had hands in these games.
implantgames yea, very nice channel you got. i give you an sub, hope you will do some more original xbox games since i still play that console daily :-)
Thanks for the sub, the Xbox reviews will continue to trickle in.
Halo is not a better shooter.
