I'm still amazed at how these guys with very little financial support can make classics that still are watched to this day. Raw, Hollywood Shuffle and the famous cult classic Five Heartbeats. Shows we're the chosen people of the book and the light of the world. We've always had to make a dollar out of 15 cent. I'm sad to say that the politically correct culture killed future classics. Comedy isn't comedy if you can't satirically pick on popular culture without being cancelled.

We would not have HOLLYWOOD SHUFFLE, FIVE HEART BEATS, I'M GONNA GET YOU SUCKA, SCARY MOVIE, IN LIVING COLOR, and THE ARSENIO HALL SHOW if those brothers DIDN'T branch off and do their own thing. All the players concerned can be and should be proud of their accomplishments.

What? Maybe I missed the point. Was it only about contemporaries?

    2) They literally stood there on SNL. ( Enjoyed every moment though)😁

He also wrote on In Living Color and the Chappelle Show, dude is a super legend. He's behind alot of the works we consider to be classic.

The interesting part of that interview was about Chris's experience being on the set of Boomerang. He said it was the first time he saw black people with money and holding positions of power.
Eddie has always put unknown black comedians in his movies. Dave Chappell was in The Nutty Professor.

With all this talent and money made, it’s a shame that Black Hollywood is separated. Why can’t we bring money together on this level and create something for Black creatives so they don’t have to wait for others to give them permission. I know there are platforms, but there should be one large platform. We don’t do well coming together.

Y'all need to go back and watch Townsends movie Hollywood Shuffle. It's basically about how Hollywood loves to make stereotypical movies about black people. Townsend telling the truth is probably why he didn't reach his full potential. I remember someone mentioned the Black Pack to Arsenio Hall while appearing on his show and Arsenio quickly chimed in that he was not a part of that.

Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, Arsenio Hall, Della Reese, Robin Harris, Tommy Ford, Charlie Murphy, Jasmine Guy, and several others.
On a side note, I'm not a fan of Tyler Perry stuff AT ALL, but I put mad respect on his name for building his own movie studio so that Black people don't have to rely on Hollywood to get movies done. It's too many Black millionaires and billionaires out there just sitting on money they'll never spend when they could be investing in movie studios, music studios, video-game studios, animation studios, etc. At least he and a few others are trying to do _something._
