Thank u! I spend months researching...pretty much all winter which is why I'm protective of them and often tell people, those that work for these gifts will treasure and protect them!
Hahaha to funny drew, citrus water is a bad combo with peanut butter and honey. Man you sure stumble across some pretty streams. As the old saying goes, trout don't live in ugly places. Enjoyed the video. Until next time. 👍👍👍
Drew, I saw where you said that you were falling and that your boots were from 2016. I had the same boots and after a couple of seasons, I found the footing with those boots got very slippery. I even replaced the studs and still kept falling. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the rubber sole had worn (just like a car tire) and was no longer providing the necessary grip. Like you, I fish deep in the woods by myself. Better to get new boots than fall in the middle of nowhere. BTW, I like your videos. I usually get to fish 150+ days a year, so when I'm not on the water I check out where you've been. I'm amazed at the size of some of the trout you pull from these mountain streams.
Killer big fish! Beautiful water!!! We could never catch fish on nymphs that big!! Lol. We have to go crazy small due to fishing pressure…. I could see to tie those with no problem!!!! I’d love to fish that water!!!! My mind is non stop thinking about the overland campers!!! Build, buy? It will happen next year!!!
Nice sized trout. Beautiful color. Would be fun to setup trail camera near that location (~9:45) where there were five logs across the creek in one spot. I reckon you would see bears, cougar, bobcats, etc using them to cross creek.
Okay this stream and woods looks like home. I'm from SE Alaska. Less sunshine and not as much warmth but the stream, flow and woods are VERY similar but home is 'wetter'. You should go sometime I'm planning a trip back home this summer.

I’ve fished most of the streams in N Idaho and I’ve run into over 40 bears. I’ve even tossed a fish over a bear while I was knee deep in the stream. Our bears are not aggressive, but of course, can’t pass up free food. So if you see one on a trail, there is little chance of danger (IME.) If you leave good out at night, or grease drippings, any of that, you’ll likely get a visit, but it’s about the free food, nit s threat.
I'm not worried about aggressive bears. But they are wild animals and unpredictable so I plan for the worst case so I'm prepared in the unlikely event it happens!

Hi Drew. Is your car a 4 x 4? If it is isn't have you ever felt like you have been limited by it not being 4 x 4? If your car is 4 x 4 do you think it is truly necessary? Thanks.
Yes, my truck has an off road pkg with 4x4. I'd say 90% of the time I was in 2wd...but when the weather changes and a few roads I needed 4wd or awd. I always say...good tires and clearance are required...4wd or awd are nice to have.
I just cut into my leader tie on a streamer. Then build it back out when I go back. Not fishing indi's so I don't care about knots and I keep leader material from 1x to 5x (4 to 6x in fluorocarbon) and constantly adjust my leader.
@@LooknFishy ok thx. Sorry for the deep dive here. So say you have a 9’ 3x NYLON TAPERED leader to a hopper and then 2’ of FLUORO dropper to a nymph. You want to throw a streamer. You cut about 2 feet of the Nylon leader to get to 2x and tie on a bugger? Then when coming back to hopper, you add the nylon that you cut off earlier? Thx
