I have been studying (teaching myself) German for the last three months. Since I am only going to Austria for two weeks and have no friends or family there, I will just continue to drill 'sie' and not worry about the other two. :-)
Now, to wrap my head around 'You' and 'They' being spelled and conjugated the same. ;-)
It takes some getting used to, but it isn't hard once you have spent some time with it.

One of my major problems with German is when "sie" is used for She, They or You (sing/plur). Sometimes I think Germans love Sie so much that they may, in the future, substitute Wir and Ich with Sie instead 😅 Then sie will match all the three persons instead of just the second and third. This video was quite helpful though.

This was tremendously helpful! My only question is: I'm studying with a language tool and example situations continue to arise in which one individual will address one other individual with "ihr" instead of "sie" - I know you said "ihr" is plural, but can it be used singularly? Am I missing something?
"du" is the singular informal. "ihr" is the plural version of the same. While "Sie" can be singular or plural, "du" is only singular and "ihr" is only plural.

I listen to german podcast . And they use ihr not sie , is this correct ?
They are addressing the audience informally to show that they are friendly with the audience members. The people listening are presumably plural, so they say ihr.

Never going to happen. This is a one stop shop. You don't need to go to a different channel once you have reached a particular threshold.

Because that isn't what it means. "Sie" is formal "you".

I'll never understand why teachers don't take thou/thy/thee at hand to explain the German Du. I thought religious America knows the Bible...
They don't actually know the Bible as much as people think. Also, even if they did understand the Bible, it is incredibly unlikely that they understand how thou/thy/thee work in English.

Shakespeare is best learned through that one film with Leonardo Dicaprio playing Romeo. I substituted in a class where they were watching Much Ado About Nothing with Denzel Washington and Keanu Reeves. I'm not quite sure they read Dowland or Johnson at all in American schools. I know I didn't in high school. I barely made it through Shakespeare.

Du darfst... And no. It is addressing more than one cat. Therefore the plural "ihr dürft" is needed.
