    Hi Woolly, after not crocheting for about 40 years I saw your blanket and thought I’d give it a go.. I’ve just finished my first square having followed your tuition which I have to say was so easy to follow..I don’t know how to upload a photo otherwise I’d show you my colours.. loving the blanket on the back of your sofa 🛋 ❤

    I like your videos. I like to make one square at a time so did white then doing gray and will add blue. Can’t wait to be done but this is fun

    How much yarn of each colour do I need to make a full size bed blanket?

    • @WoollyWumpkins
      @WoollyWumpkins  4 месяца назад

      The first video gives amounts for this size, I would guess that double the amounts would cover a full size bed, but as there are a variety of full sizes to beds I can’t really give you a definitive answer sorry.

    How do you figure out the colors to get 3D effect ? Is it light medium dark darker is it 3 shades of a color then do two different light colors? The videos are explained very well and i know you said use whatever color of choice but you don't really say what the scheme of colors are ( no matter what colors you choose to use ) in what order do you use them and how do you choose the colors to give the 3D effect

    • @WoollyWumpkins
      @WoollyWumpkins  2 года назад +3

      The way I have done it takes 6 colours. 2 light, neutral colours, (white - a, beige - b) then 4 shades of the same colour (blue) A really dark - c, dark - d, medium -e, light - f. The light should still be darker than the neutrals.
      Then the colour placement is a, b, f, c, d, f, c, e
      I hope that helps 👍🏼

    Do you have to do two neutrals and four shades of one color to get the 3D effect? I used a color palette and am using the gradient wheel. Will that work as well?

    One more question. On 19:20 when making a corner why don’t you go to the last hole? When I go to the hole that you say my hole looks weird. Thank you

      I find that the structure of the square is maintained better when it comes to crocheting the pieces together. As the square grows larger the edges need to have anchor points for the stitches that are to come. If yours is not looking like mine at this stage you can do whatever you feel is needed to keep the squares edges on track 👍🏼
