Once I got my models, the process was not the same for mine due to the wheel design (Maisto 1:18 Porsche Cayman S 987 and 911 997. So what I had to do was remove the front and back base plates. With those removed the rear axels with wheels attached, swapped straight over. Easy. With the front however, I had to pull out the steering rack assembly, and the pop off the lower control arms with the wheel/hub still attached. That was the only scary part as there is a real possibility to bend and snap the steering rack. Once those are off, pop on the replacements from the other model, and re-assemble both. All good fun, and your video still gave me the confidence to buy the models and swap the parts.
Good video, but you skipped what to do when you have brake rotor/caliper in way of getting wheels off? I've got a 1/18 911 GT3RS 4.0 where the rotor wants to come off w/wheel but is trapped in slot of caliper. It appears forcing it will snap rotor. Is there a typical way to remove or swing caliper up out of way so you can remove wheel/rotor assembly? Thanks for any suggestions!
can you do a video for a rc2 model. i have a range rover model and need help removing wheel because i tried this way and the brake disc almost snapped.
I personally don't own any rc2 brand diecast to show, but after some quick research it appears they are made by Ertl. If that is true, the wheels should pop off the same as most cars. Heres a video of me removing the wheels from a yellow Ertl mustang: ruclips.net/video/GTMVNmT8dXg/видео.html It may help you out; thanks for watching & subscribing, I appreciate it!
@@yuriilev No problem. Most, if not all 1/18th cars are made in China, so they are all pretty similar in the way they are assembled. Good luck on your build!
Well, sometimes you can use metal rod (such as a thicker coat hanger wire) for new axles on the back of the cars, but for the fronts (due to space) you may end up having to just epoxy the wheel on permanently. It will no longer roll but its better than no wheel. I hope that helps, thanks for watching!
Hello, I have never removed any wheels from a 1/18th Welly, but I'm pretty sure one of my wheel removal videos should help you out since most all of the brands are made in China and are very similar.
Thank you so much for posting this. Exactly what I needed to know, so that I can re-create the look of my real car.
Thank you for watching; I'm glad it helped you out!

I can't find your video about removing the wheels from Ertl American Muscle vehicles, do you have a link to it?
Sure, here it is: ruclips.net/video/GTMVNmT8dXg/видео.html
Thanks! I'm going to add "lowrider" wire wheels to a 1964 Impala as soon as the model arrives, it looks like it is a fairly straightforward process.

Have you turned one of these into an rc car?
i have SL 500 ,REAR WHEEL BROKEN, HOW TO GET THOSE REPLACE
I found a Maisto BMW Z4 on a garage sale thing, for 5$ and I bought it ofc, but the problem is the axle is broken, can I replace them too?

Same🤨
What about the C4 ZR-1 model?
99.9% of all 1/18th cars are made in China, so they are all very similar in nature on how they are put together.
Where can i buy different wheels for my 1/18 models?
The best place is eBay for wheel sets
Is there any place I can send my Maisto Chrysler that could replace the front broken axle and put a tire back on that's functional?
Unfortunately, its actually cheaper to just buy a whole new car from eBay than pay to ship it to me and back etc.
Thanks, I just broke my wheel axle
Yeaaaaah I guess this tutorial doesn't apply to the Maisto CLK GTR... But Nevermind I replaced the whole axle
I have a 1:18th scale 69 maisto charger I want to do a wheel swap can I use the gmp wheels ?
You should be able to, but you may have to do some mods to make them fit. I do have a gap wheel swap video on my channel that may help you out.
CAN YOU HEKP ME ABOUT THE REMOVE 1:18 WELLY WHEELS???
