Which is accurate: during combat, they'd use things like flares and maybe bounce searchlights off clouds to illuminate the whole area, not individual lights. Illuminating yourself during combat at night is basically the worst thing you can do, to the extent that soldiers are still thought to base night raids more around planning more than optics, just in case night vision would give the soldiers away.

Just noticed vehicles dont have lights or there is no light effect on night maps...
