When entering into college many students plan on becoming medical doctors, but one thing that students are often confused about is "What is the best pre-med major?"
Historically students have used Chemistry and Biology to satisfy their prerequisites for medical school, however, this is not a requirement.
In fact, many schools have seen an increase in the number of Liberal Arts applicants. You will learn why just having strong academics is not enough to get into medical school and what factors make you a strong applicant.
In this video, you will learn what it means to be pre-med, the classes you will be required to take, and the key steps you will need to follow in order to get into medical school.
Medical admission boards are most interested in your grades, your extracurriculars, a high MCAT score, and how you conduct yourself in your interviews.
Getting into medical school is very competitive and there is no perfect formula, but if you follow these steps you will start yourself in the right direction to get into the medical school of your dreams.
It makes no sense to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars, plus waste years of one's life for a USELESS major for the single purpose of applying to the major that you actually want, in which you will have to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars all over again. This system is ridiculous.
Could you do a video on political science?
That would be interesting.
Super helpful for those who are considering :) Thank you sir!
Thanks Jake!
You da best mannn
In our country we have to choose our subject stream when we start our high school journey. If one wanna become a doctor that one have to choose Science stream which include Biology , Chemistry and Physics as major subjects. If one wanna become a Engineer that one have to choose Maths stream which include Combined Maths, Chemistry and Physics as major subjects. After 2 years in high school we have to face a hard exam in the high school. Then according to our results we can applied to a university or to a medical collage . Everything, I mean we would be an university student or not is defend on our results in that exam. So, according to our country a pre medical student means , the students who choose Science stream in high school education and who are studying for it?Am I correct?
I'm so sorry. I really didn't mean to write a long comment.ㅠㅡㅠ
Are you French? Because it’s the same here

I'm in Canada, currently, and they have an actual pre-medical course to take for getting into any of the medical field jobs. Pre-Health Sciences to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees. It's a one year course. Level; 1 includes Human Biology 1, Introductory Chemistry, College Reading and Writing skills, Pre-Health Foundations, and Mathematics 1 for Pre-Health Advanced.
I'm in canada too, is bachelors in science alright?

Where do Public Health majors fail here?
How long it talks?
HOW MANY YEARS WILL IT TAKE TO FINISH PRE MED
Legend
What is the point in being good at math for med school
time wastage
In all practicality, there will be a generally high amount of math used in most medical professions. Everything from measuring and prescribing dosages in medications, to formulating important ratios and information about a person, to calculating research and data as a psychiatrist. Unfortunately, math will always be important, even when we aren't consciously telling ourselves to hate it or be uncomfortable with it.
So I’m a pre med if I want to go to med school?
Yea
Would a nursing major be ideal?
probably not
Yes by default you get clinical rotations and are at a greater advantage during medical school
what better course chemistry or psychology?
chemistry
depends on what you like
Chem 100%. If you don’t go to med school imagine being stuck with a BS in Psychology….
There is no way I can be a doctor! I'd pass out from the sight of blood and I'm afraid of frogs. I heard you have to dissect frogs. Omg I'd have a major panic attack
