My go to kit is the Urbane plus Adv Spec Linesman. Good for temperate to warm riding. Taken me from 30 degrees plus in Portuguese TET (no Linesman) to summer Arctic in Finland (still pleasantly warm) to 10 degrees in Wales in March. Add in Adv Spec Atacama pants, Alpinestar 7 boots and bionic braces and I'm good to go.
I have the urban Pro 2 in Australia and use it for road riding , ADV riding and Enduro ridding ( in Summer at 35 degrees it’s still pretty good ) I came off on the trails and did injurer my Shoulder - so I put level 2 armour in the shoulders - I think it should come with level 2 in the shoulders as that is the MAIN injury that riders sustain, like broken collar bones etc . Winter ❄️ time I layer up with different gear over my urban pro depending on riding type and time away .
@@observerfrom5563 I was lucky that another rider sold his on gumtree ( as it was to small for him ) so if you buy one ☝️ go up ⬆️ one size . My normally a L but the one I got of him is a XL ( he had to get a XXL . Basically they are a size under. ( Yes 👍 in AUS I’m from VIC )
Just realize, those of you not local to the UK, when you get that jacket delivered - which may or may not fit (for example I wear an XL in KLIM, but in this stuff - well let’s just say that 2XL seems at least 2 maybe 3 sizes smaller than KLIM even though Knox says 46-48, I’d like to see them prove that, be interesting) - and you want to exchange it, you may well be faced with a return freight bill greater than the value of the garment. Sooooo…. If you are ok with that, then I suspect they have lots of great stuff.
Thanks - good recommendations for dual road/off-road riding gear. When going strictly off-road, I want more protection against trees, rocks etc. So will wear protective pads for chest, back, arm and knees. I imagine those would be tough to get on under this gear due to the protection you already have built in. However, for most rides where I’m doing a little bit of both, this is perfect, good protection and layers that can be removed when you get hot.

I would love to see membrane outer shell with vent zippers. Sometimes it's too hot to ride in rain shell and too cold for Urbane Pro alone. In not black, preferably. I understand that sun is not a problem in UK, but still :)

With our waterproof outers, we have aimed for absolute waterproofing and therefore it doesn't have vents etc. Every time you add a zip, pocket, seam or flap in a waterproof garment you compromise its waterproof performance. But there is 1 big vent... right down the middle of it! ;) Thanks, Aaron KNOX
Recently I bought a jacket with Knox Microlock Level 2 protectors. While just checking the elbow protectors, I tried to flex it the opposite way and it just tore off from the corner. Is this normal? Aren't we supposed to flex it like that?
Hi, sorry to hear your problem. No, they are not designed to be bent backwards as that put undue and unrealistic pressure on the flex points. However, at the same time, it should necessarily crack either and perhaps there is a fault. We suggest contacting the retailer you purchased it from and hopefully they can give you a replacement. Look at the fellow standing beside the KTM. The bike is nearly as tall as he is. Some brands feel like they are made for small people. Wonder if this is such a brand ?
Essentially, the Honister is the new pinnacle of protection, AAA rated. However, it is a bit heavier and less breathable in comparison to the Urbane Pro MK2. Both are excellent options. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
