I would say 1995ish to 2010ish is the golden era of trance I should know I was there at the start of the trance movement in the 90s and boy it was 1 hell of a wild ride

One of my personal favourites are "Ocean Paradise" by Temple One. It's released from 2017 and I think it has much of the oldschool sound right there. It's sound also reminds me a little of Mike Foyle - Shipwrecked, that was released in 2006. There are very few artists and good modern tracks with true old-school sound is very hard to find. But it's not like it doesn't exist? Plus that progressive trance NEVER been "mainstream" anyway. Here in Sweden for instance, the progressive trance scene was not a big thing in the 90s or 00s either. I think it was more in Ibiza or London.

I listened to this first in a small pub I think in 2010 never left my playlist since then it’s been 15 years since it released , nostalgic but scary how the time goes. Now in 2023 will continue listening to this until I die.

@@rythem17 I didn't find trance until 2015 and even then that was 9 years ago, so I've been listening to trance for a while and I'm considered "new". 02-11 would be acceptable to me as "classic" trance because the edm scene changed a ton between after 2012; EDM featured in music became much more mainstream and the younger generation began going down edm rabbit holes; which is how I found trance. I think a lot of these songs deserve the label classic but maybe that's because I'm still figuring out the history of trance.
@@--Nabe-rius-- I hear ya, just didn’t strike me as classical. More caught me that it is considered so. Some would argue it’s post what they call the “golden era” of. But yea definitely older now. Classic trance to me is early to mid 90’s in my head, stuff like Legend B or 4voice etc.

@@rythem17 I didn't find trance until 2015 and even then that was 9 years ago, so I've been listening to trance for a while and I'm considered "new". 02-11 would be acceptable to me as "classic" trance because the edm scene changed a ton between after 2012; EDM featured in music became much more mainstream and the younger generation began going down edm rabbit holes; which is how I found trance. I think a lot of these songs deserve the label classic but maybe that's because I'm still figuring out the history of trance.
@@--Nabe-rius-- I hear ya, just didn’t strike me as classical. More caught me that it is considered so. Some would argue it’s post what they call the “golden era” of. But yea definitely older now. Classic trance to me is early to mid 90’s in my head, stuff like Legend B or 4voice etc.
