Love this video and it has made me even more excited to move this October. I’m still in between Medellin and Cali but you make a good point on being on the outskirts to better facilitate immersion.
Recently, THE major issue for nomads and other long stay expats has been Visas! The theme worldwide is now: You can come for a visit but do not think of staying unless you are wealthy. (ie Thailand, Malaysia, Mexico, and many, many more.) So what have you arranged and for how long, and what is the plan if you want to stay?
Im realizing that now. Getting a visa has not been easy. Student visas have great options, but you have to be financially stable enough to give up work hours.
If she were to stay, the process is rather simple. There are two segments, one is for those have work virtually or own a business, etc. The other is for retirees. That one is very simple, a cost of about $350 for 12 months and then you re-apply for an extension which is 3 years (double check, please) and that gives them time to establish residency. Please, double-check but you will find your answers regarding staying

Are they enforcing Vax passports in Medellin. I'm coming December 28th. But if if can't enter a restaurant because I'm not vaccinated that's not going work.
Yes, for gyms, cinemas, clubs, restaurants and tourist attractions :( unfortunately, this just happened about 2 weeks ago. I do know that some places are not asking and there's always takeout. I hope this doesn't halt your trip.
@@AudaciouslyMe Great info! I think they are just checking the box. Most of them don’t know what a foreign vaccine card looks like. It was the same in the DR when they started requiring proof to enter businesses. Thank you 🙏
There are wealthy neighborhoods is each major city I would say, even in the rural areas. The most modern and advanced though, I would so lower Poblado / upper Poblado in Medellin. And then Bocagrande / Manga in Cartagena. The rest I’m not familiar with

All the best to you in your adventure. You didn't touch on your immigration status. Do you have a resident visa and how did you qualify?
Thats a very good point ! thank you, i'll make sure to break it down in my next video, however, i am on a visitors visa so i get 6 months every year and must leave the country for at least 1 day every 3 months.
thanks
She's talking about the Yucatan peninsula that place is hot.
Thanks for watching
what neighborhood did you stay in?
At this point, it was Calazans, but I much prefer Sabaneta and Envigado now.
currently living in Hawaii, and really want to live in this area of Columbia in a few years. Where do i start about looking for a affordable place there ? Which websites should i use ?
Try Realtor.
I like airbnb!
I Kno this video is old but can you tell us more about the Digital nomad visa.
Yess!! Im going to do a video in October no problem. Thanks for the request
@@AudaciouslyMe okay cool I will subscribe to your channel. And thank you for responding back you are such a adorable gorgeous young lady God bless you ma'am.
This video made me want to move away so bad!!! Do you have any tips on finding remote work that allows you to live outside of your own country?
I would join as many facebook groups as possible! There are so many expat groups and the have a lot of information there.
Congratulations!!! What neighborhood are you staying in?
Thank you so much! I was in the Calasanz neighborhood. But after this video, I realized I like Sabaneta more
🔥🔥
Love your video!! I'm in Manizales and coming to Medellin in a week. Can I ask how you found your apartment? And are there any more apartments available in your block? Appreciate any help😀
Thats amazing! I hope you enjoy your experience!! I found the apartment on airbnb. I messaged the host privately and offered to pay months in advance in pesos. Its a great wait to avoid fees.
Also, I dont know if anything else is available. But of you send me an email, ill forward you the link to the airbnb host I used. He has many units
If you had kids would you still feel comfortable living there?
Oh most certainly! Actually, I never thought about having a family, until seeing how life could be here if I chose to do that.
I hate that you beat me to it...I'm mad 🤣
LOL sorry, not sorry!! See you when you get here !
What a lovely , smart young lady; I am so glad that you are happy with your decision to move to Colombia. It sounds like you have found a real jewel of a city and I wish you the best. I would love to get your email and write to you directly; I am planning to move to Colombia and can use some info from someone who is experiencing and loving Colombia.
@@AudaciouslyMe great videos btw. What kind of proof of vaccination for foreigners need to show who have been vaccinated?
@JB Jay just a screenshot is needed. When I show mine, they barely double check it.
@@AudaciouslyMe Great info! I think they are just checking the box. Most of them don’t know what a foreign vaccine card looks like. It was the same in the DR when they started requiring proof to enter businesses. Thank you 🙏
What’s the rich parts of Columbia? I would like to travel to those areas
There are wealthy neighborhoods is each major city I would say, even in the rural areas. The most modern and advanced though, I would so lower Poblado / upper Poblado in Medellin. And then Bocagrande / Manga in Cartagena. The rest I’m not familiar with
@@AudaciouslyMe hmmm okay I don’t believe Haiti has a rich area of the country
Thanks
Are you still living there?
How can I find a cheap place like that
Jeeez, things have changed so much. But I have found better prices in the south below Medellin. Itagui has been really peaceful for me, and it’s only 20-25 mins in taxi away from popular tourist areas.
@@AudaciouslyMe im glad it went well for you, did you end up working down there ?
Hi sister before you move do you speak Spanish??
I did not!! Barely could order my own food without a translator. I have learned SOOO much now! Throwing myself if helped me learn faster!
@@AudaciouslyMe I am planning retire next year from Dallas tx to armenia colombia. I am 64 years old. I like nice quiet simple life. Be around nature. I don't know how to talk Spanish. Any way thanks for responding. I guess you like it there
My closest Colombian friend is from that region, and she speaks highly of it. A nice quiet place for sure. I would absolutely start taking some lessons, you can learn the basics in a year. Good luck and congrats@@Driver2724
@@AudaciouslyMe thanks young lady be safe 🙏🏽 I am going be your you tube follower.
Do you have to have a round trip ticket?
I did not get asked to show any proof of exit, but I know some people who did have to.
Did you have a round trip ticket?
This it LGBT+ friendly ? Also how fast can you get home 🏠 internet ?
I would def start with renting an airbnb that comes fully furnished, and with internet. I have seen plenty of same sex couples, but unfortunately i know much information on anti-gay crimes.
Colombia have hot cities like Barranquilla
True!
looks nice to me what kind of job do you do if you don't mind me asking.
Thank you for watching. I am teaching kids online!
Which neighborhood
Calasanz

You seem cool asf and i like what you doing.. you got a subscriber in me
haha, first of all, nice username LOL - Also, si hablo español, pero solo un poquito. It's a shame that we missed each other. How long were you in town for? My favourite group is "expats in Medellin"... very informative. And thank you for the info, i'll be sure to keep my guard up.
There's no such thing as "the latin language" in Colombia. You'll so ignorant. Can't believe you went to Colombia and didn't know the language is SPANISH.
I would really like to speak with you in private there are so many questions i would love to ask you
I dont have a problem with that. Check my profile for my email address.
