This is one of the two videos of running technique tips from Scott that has really helped me with my running this year (2012). I keep reminding myself of the "bowl and the rod" on every run nowadays and it helps a lot during all of my runs. Thank's for the great instructions!
I've been trying to find the second video (not sure if it's a series) for a friend of mine recently but I've been unsuccessful. I'll try and remember to answer you if I find it!
What if I have arched spine normally and bigger ass at the same time so it seems like super-dumping ? Well my spine and body stabilization got better since I started to run more often, but still I must look really awkward while running :))
I have never seen anyone in my life run up hill in that lean back position. I really do reckon you guys make half this up...most people run up hill exactly as you are, in your own mind, teaching people!
Scott Jurik is the Tiger Woods of Ultra running, but his 24 hour Badwater personal best was crushed by unknown Akos Konya who finished with a record breaking 23 hours 41 minutes the very next year at 2007 Badwater.
Jurek looks more like he's just spent the weekend boozing and smoking weed. People talking about do you know who Jurek is...thing about that. if you've been running for years you know yourself better than Jurek or any other runner. You run the way that suits your style. Most good runners have a natural style...it doesn't really take a lot of thinking about. If you're having to think too much about how you're running you're probably not running your most efficient way. Yeah I see some runners and think my god...that's only going to have a miserbale ending down the line..but if you've been running for a lot of years, injury free then you're most likely running a way that suits you and it's most likely fine wihtout Jureks wonderful advice. None of us run exactly the same and what's good for Jurek may not be good for you
I know is late but I'm guessing that's why his name is in the title of the video. It's how he runs uphill and is showing it to teach others who might be struggling. There's good forms of doing stuff and he has one of them as far as I can tell. I work construction and old school guys never learn different techniques they use "I never got hurt doing it before" as a way to reinforce it. But it doesn't mean you can't get hurt it just means you've gotten lucky. I'm sure even Scott himself has gotten hurt I guess. We don't have the same bodies but I think if a pro tells you how they do something it doesn't hurt to listen I mean they are the ones with the little Brooks shirt after all but that's just me.
That's a classic video.
the ankle pivot tip was great! that made all the difference :) thanks !!!
Great Running Technique’s Scott Jurek.
Seriously, are you criticizing Jurek on running?

Do you know who Jurek is? Cause I do. And I have never heard of you. So I'll take his word over yours.
Thats your first mistake
Where is your ultra marathon records?
This really is the same easy form running I've been teaching for years. But it's alwys nice to see Scott reinforcing it.
Isn't this essentially the chi running technique?
Думаю где же мне посмотреть как он бежит, и даже тут этого нет,
очень странно
