i cant take that "what are you waiting for" scene seriously anymore. Especially if you've watched scary movie 1. lmao
😂😂😂😂😂
Hahaha honestly I had to laugh when I saw that scene
Here's what it reminded me of AHHAHAHA
Well to be fair. It was an idea that kid gave since they won a contest to direct a part for this film.
"What am *I* waiting for?!?!"
I miss 90s/early 2000s horror
Same. Even though they were essentially all the same movie, they were still fun to watch and most still hold up.
Scream and sequels, I Know What You Did Last Summer and sequel, Urban Legend, The Faculty, Cherry Falls, Valentine, Halloween H20, Final Destination, An American Werewolf in Paris, Cry Wolf....
Intentionally leaving out some non-slashers like Blair Witch and Jeepers Creepers cuz.... no thanks.
Slasher films rule!!!
Yoni
I love Jeepers Creepers and Blair Witch Project. Have you seen Soul Survivors?
@@yoni5570 Great list and I'm happy you left off Halloween the curse of Michael Myers that movie was horrible. And that is coming from a huge fan of the franchise I own Halloween 1-3 in steelbooks and 4, 5 and 20' on Blu-ray and H20 on DVD and I absolutely love 90s horror movies from when I grew up the curse of Michael Myers was just trash. Still better than the Rob Zombie ones though.....
Biggest mistake: watched scary movie first
Watching Scary Movie at all. IKWYDLS hasn't really aged all that well. Kevin Williamson, who also wrote for the Scream franchise, should have injected more *intentional* humor into this as well.
truee :((
Yeah, It's totally confusing if you watched a Scary Movie first before you watch this 2 movies that included for the making of...
@@T0nN9th what's confusing ?! One is slasher classic other is parody 🤷♂️
Nah that was best mistake youve made
Is it just me or does this trailer have a very comedic feel to it? It's like they knew they were going to get parodied in just a couple years.
Darkman 😅😂😂😂
its either very funny or im just very high
One man!
Kind of voice I laughed all the way the trailer
It's called camp
The whole movie look like a parody
Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. are my favorite married couple ❤❤
They were also a couple when they played Fred and Daphne in Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.
Yes but Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe are best on screen couple 🔥 they have lot of chemistry
@@danran1157 Cruel intentions
From Scooby doo to Realife Lovers😻😍😻🙏🙏🙏🙌
@@battlestar4293 actually they started dating during "I Know What You Did Last Summer"
From the cast to the costumes to the location this was a very attractive horror film
One of the very best horror movies ever with a great cast too
Thank you a lot for like my comment
Yeah this is the stupidest movie of all time it was trying to compete with scream
@@teamhpg1043 I thought this was the OG and scream was kinda a remake??
@@Altair11055 Scream came out before this one and Scream had a good director Wes Craven. I know what you did last summer just had an all star cast but the movie is trash
@@Altair11055 Scream came out and was a hit, so everyone wanted the screenwriter to write another hit movie, so he wrote this. It’s based on a 1973 book tho
i was like 11 or 12 when this came out and this movie really stuck with me all these years.
I participated in a media experiment as a consumer subject with my girlfriend at the time when this movie was first released at an Oregon mall theater. I loved this classical horror movie and the sequel. They're so much fun and scary. They're originals and have great casts.
You're kidding right? The one with brandy and Jack Black was horrible.
@@hardtechnoboy And somehow Brandy was probably the best part of it. Haha

Remember stealing this tape from our neighbours and rewatching it as a kid, had nightmares for years. Even now that i have as an adult watched way more terrifying movies when i stumble across it i feel like i am 8 again :D
Watched for the first time last night and I loved it. All of these years and honestly don’t know how I never watched it. Watched the sequel as well but I don’t think it tops the first one at all. Great movie.
I was in HS and went to the movies to watch this and it was the best . One of the best movies ever , especially watching it as a teenager in the theater 🤗🤗🤗👊
It’s crazy how much 90s star power this film had
Favourite movie of all time. Old horror movies are the best..

I was originally searching for the song "I know what you did last summer" then this showed up, so i clicked and sure am not regretting it.. Im gonna watch this movie right away
So 1 shot and 2 tragets ha😂😂😂😂
Im the opposite
After watching this movie, I still remember what they did last summer!
When trailers was so Lit and actually made you want to spend money to go to the movie theaters
That's not like that... To spend money on every kind of trailer that we watch..... It's like spending money on those kind of trailers by watching those movies unless and until someone really likes it.....
@@HONORTONUMERIC123 you’re right about that . Sadly there aren’t too many movies being made that caters to the authenticity of the horror / thriller genre idk just my opinion what are your thoughts on classic movies being recreated for todays generation
The most successful spinoff to Scream that popularized the “secret” masked killer genre. There were many films that came from what Scream popularized. All bad but this was successful in fact even better than Scream. A classic.
I absolutelly agree. IKWYDLS is classic like Scream, Halloween, Friday the 13th, A nightmare on Elm street and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Hey Urban Legend was a good solid slasher film. And it came in the wake of scream. So they were t all bad.
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, HUH?!?!?! God, I love you Jennifer Love Hewitt!
The best part of this trailer is SMG kicking out the window with her heel. Camp queen.
What are you waiting for huh?!???? Always loved that part haha I love the 90’s
Remembered this part from scary movie or some parody clip xD
@@ajaychoudhary4494 scream 1 came in the mid 90s
Got my 4K copy of this movie today. It’s so worth the upgrade! The movie looks absolutely stunning.
Actually a really terrific horror film. Nice mystery element, great energy from the cast, it does something quite hard which is take a group of characters who've done something really bad, yet you still want to see them make it. Actions actually have consequences in this movie too. The way the killers identity is hidden also works well, having him mostly appear at night and the costume design is pretty good.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE MOVIE EVER AND I CANT STOP OBSESSING ABOUT IT ✨

I loved that they filmed this in North Carolina! I seen the hardware store Helen ran to when being chased

Who else vividly remembers this trailer playing before Anaconda on VHS!?
i do lol....im 34yrs old and im a 90s dude so yea i remember lol
I saw Anaconda in theaters. At best, maybe a trailer for Men in Black.
Wow, you just opened a drawer that has been closed forever in my brain
Jennifer Love Hewitt, and even Sarah Michelle Gellar 😍😘❤️💐
1:35 I don't think anyone could take this scene seriously again🤣🤣🤣
Ryan Phillipe is a handsome man😍
Freddie Prinze is handsome too!!!❤

Oh boy, oh boy. This "Friends: Holloween Special" looks awsome! Can't wait for it!
I watched this at 10 with a friends. It was dark we were hiding under a blanket. Her older brother kept creeping up and scaring and grabbing at us every suspenseful moment and jump scare. 10 year old me was on the verge of tears and a heart attack by the end of ti. I since can't watch horror movies. I really want to. I'm just too terrified.
So, after you’ve watched the movie, what did you do?
Classic movie. No need for a remake.
a MUCH needed remake .it would be better if it was accurate to the book and not a stupid hook murder. this plot is AWFUL compared to the book

I know what you did last summer new series 2021 bought me here
me too the new series looks like riverdale and i dont like it
Love how both "Julia Salinger" and "Sarah Reeves" were in 2 different slasher franchises at the same time 😉
I love Party Of Five
Every summer, I gotta watch that! 😀
Hard to believe this movie will be 25 years old in October! I remember being there on opening day (Oct. 17) since I was right in the demographic was aiming for, 14-year-olds who watched the WB (before it was called the CW). I remember renting Anaconda on VHS a number of times since it had this trailer attached to it. My mom thought it was Jennifer Lopez that I kept renting Anaconda for, but no, it was for Freddie Prinze Jr. and glimpses of Ryan Phillippe almost naked.

Can you imagine watching The Exorcist at 8 yo
sarah michelle gellar stole the show in this movie and became a star overnight
This movie is actually pretty sad, if you notice what happened to everyone's life after the accident...

As an original consumer subject audience member, I can honestly claim the movie producers created multiple endings, but the majority only knows the version released on DVD/Netflix, etc. ... 🤐
1:34 after watching scary movie that’s even funnier

I Know What You Did Last Summer turns 25 today!
Made $72.2 million on a $17 million budget, they got lucky releasing it at the current time frame
I remember only seeing the second one more, my first introduction to Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr.
Sarah Michelle Gellar was fresh off her hit show Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Completely forgot Ryan Phillipe was in this next to the late Anne Heche and Bridgette Wilson
They filmed it both in California and North Carolina
Had no idea it was based on the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan
I remember dad gave the movie a C, Roger Ebert only praised the first scene
This obviously followed the 90s slasher revival craze after 'Scream' brought it back, same writer was Kevin Williamson
Funny how Sarah Michelle Gellar died twice in both this and 'Scream 2' the same year
The fisherman is your standard slasher villain
It's too bad the sequels failed right after and the Amazon prime series but they managed to spoof it in 'Scary Movie'
Hewitt's screaming can be a be aggravating but this has a hip soundtrack, memorable lines, and a straightforward plot about an accident turned into a nightmare
My favorite scene is Gellar trying to outrun the fisherman killer
Gruesome kills but seem tame by comparison, thankfully a slew of fresh actors make the material watchable
Director Jim Gillespie admits taking time was the key to the first movie's success; getting to know the main players before they get attacked, characters in a movie don’t have to be likeable, and I like that each of them are flawed and a little self-involved - they are teenagers after all
That's why every other follow up failed and was a rushed cash grab (studio execs getting greedy)
Even Mike Flanagan was approached at one point to remake it but over time it fell by the wayside
They should do a remake of this movie.
The music at 1:38 and throughout the rest of the trailer does not fit at all, in my opinion lol. Still, it's a fun little 90's-popcorn flick.
bigb860 I like it
Aw, man! That song made the trailer great! It was the unofficial song of the dang movie for Pete’s sakes (used in all the ads and TWICE in the movie)

Wait a minute I just thought of something if Fred (Freddie Prinze, Jr.) and Daphne (Sarah Michelle Gellar) are in this movie why can't they just solve the mystery and unmasked the fisherman to find out who it is, and where's Shaggy, Velma and Scooby-Doo when you need them.
Here after the new series!
