I have a legit question for coco or any real explanations from the community here. First off, love the vids Coconut. Secondly, do you think the amount of games played by a player can slow that players rank up ability? Back in halo 3 days there was a thing called highest skill rating. In SWAT I hovered around 36-38 but I played with people at the top at 50. A lot of time carried even, but I had a thousand plus more games then they had. In RL I pretty much stay at diamond 2, but play all the time with C2s and up to GC. I hang just fine, I'm just as fast, and pretty consistent. Even had plenty of people question me after the games as to why I'm D2 and not in champ ranks. Thanks for any info anyone has. I'm not out here hitting flip resets and crazy things, but air dribbles, ground and wall, double taps, ceiling shots, and things like that I've been hitting for years now.
I don't know the best way to explain it, but there's a big difference between keeping up and contributing. I'm champ and sometimes I play with a friend who is high plat / low diamond, he keeps up with the pace, makes saves, scores goals, but I need to adjust my playstyle to accommodate for him. Even if you feel like you are keeping up okay, there are likely a lot of little mistakes you make that are keeping you out of that rank (ie. bad 50s, untrustworthy in net, poor rotations). When you play with others above your rank, they are likely playing in a way to cover for you so that you don't get exposed for your mistakes, this might even result in you getting a higher score in the end because they are letting you dive for shots or risky challenges. I still thoroughly believe that your rank is your rank for a reason, if you consistently played at a champ level you would be in the champ rank.
@@fullyjoey123 man I completely get what you mean and can definitely see it when I play with my one buddy in GC. My thing is, I have a lot of experience in the game and the main guy I play with has less than 1000 hours, maybe 500ish, and he gets ranked in champ and me in D2. However if I play on a Smurf it gets ranked in champ after 10 placements. It seems to only happen on my main. I honestly find myself compensating for teammates bad rotations and poor game sense but I'm not naive to think some do it for me. I just don't understand why my main doesn't rank up but a Smurf does
On a new account it gives you at least 30-40 mmr from youre placements and puts you into at least diamond 2 div 4(providing the fact that you have to win all 10 of those placements). On an old account every win or loss is just 9-11 mmr. You could be diamond 2 with 920 mmr and only get 9 mmr for every win. Im diamond 2 as well and looking to get into champ, so im imrproving my gamsense rather than mechanics and ive just started playing ranked from 6 months ago in s12
What do you mean by low? His 35 or something? The best you can do is to live as close as possible to a rocket league server 😅 Apart from that it's the usual.
