Game mode is called *"1999"* because around the time of the game release there was a spike in a regular bitching in the gaming community about how _"older games were harder, look at Quake, Doom or Half-Life 1"_ - so it was called *"1999"* to signify "a game as hard as the one from the nineties".
@João AHC Just beat 1999 mode, It was pretty easy but I'm not sure what they can do to make it harder without making it stupid.
System Shock 2 came out in 1999, it was made by the same people (different studio name).
That game was exceptionally hard even for 1999.

It’s gotten better a lot regard the series highly. And I agree even system shock was under appreciated and way ahead of its time

Why are there so many infusions and gears in the bar?
Early bird special it is like a dlc kinda thing that helps you in the early game with those unique gears and extra infusions
yeah remember the game was diferent when i first playd without the dlc

Not only that, but I had JUST ordered a Vindaloo, No Rice, with a Garlic Naan and Pakoras...
So I was sent here by RUclips Algorithm, somehow knowing I was about to re-play this game, for the 100th time (which is already weird)
But then you went and said about getting Indian food?
Am I being watched?! Is this a glitch in the Matrix?
(Also, absolutely amazing run. Best I could do was 5 hours on 1999 Mode... and that was me REALLY trying... Indian was good though)

On the internet I found that enemies get back to full health in this mode, why isn't it the case at the begining against the crow teleporting guy?

Originally it was going to be an entire overhaul of the game, more akin to classic 90s shooters.
Games back then were way more unforgiving.
It’s a bit of a reference to System Shock 2, released in 1999, where reviving costs money, and it’s gameover if you run out.

I played this game for the first time on hard and found it rather easy, I understand why the gaming community was complaining.

the hardest difficulty in Bioshock Infinite.. it;s not just adding more damage on the enemy up to 200%, but also lowering your damage dealt down to 50%..

There are several speed run types. There are Speedrun WR with glitches and Without. These are 2 different categories.
