Yes DC doesn't do typical relay dances, they basically have whole new choreagrophies based on the the original.
Given how much crazy shit happens in those relay dances, i am pretty sure Sua is the one choreographing.
Or at the very least has a lot of influence in the creative process.

For intros, it depends but they can use the intro for their live performances on shows and festivals (for example "You and I" performance during an outdoor festival started with their EP intro first).
For the relay dances, they prepared a bit but there is some improvisation from what I've seen from other relay dances. SuA also helps a lot to make the choreo shine (and the girls are already great performers). Btw for "Boca", there are a lot of newer InSomnias who started with it like you and love the song. There are quite some InSomnias who don't really dig the moombahton while still enjoying the chorus (and Dami's "Hold Up") and rank "Boca" as their least favorite in the Dystopia trilogy.
"Can't Get You Out of My Mind" is partially created for International InSomnias as they know they have a bigger fanbase out of South Korea. This Dreamcatcher English song work weirdly well to me (same for BTS few English songs "Waste it on Me", "Dynamite", etc...). I said "weirdly" because I also think that many Kpop artists singing in English just for the sake of it is a bit weird (I'm not just speaking of Korean to English versions and it's not because I'm biased as I love 2NE1 but didn't really enjoy CL's solo English song). And during the concert, this song was even better: OT7 and with a Live band! By the way, have you watched their 2-days concert?
As you seem to already know, "Dear" was written, composed and arranged by JiU for us InSomnias again (like "4 Memory). And fortunately, you reacted to this live version (instead of the Seven Spirit one which is still awesome but we are more laughing than emotional because of some Halloween meme costumes 😅).

Oh forgot to say that "Break The Wall" was my fav on this album followed closely by "Boca" (even if I prefer the other "Dystopia" title tracks ^^).
And if I'm not mistaken they also have kinda "choreography" and performed it for intro in album with title track Fly High, You and I, Deja Vu (but it was only them posing and walking(?)) if I remember it correctly lmao

Regarding your intro, just don't worry about it, it's your channel, the most important is always that you enjoy doing them. And like Jiu said in a macaron cooking live, "Dreamcatcher is like a black hole, once you get in, you can't go out"
I think I watch all of your reactions to them but it's my first time commenting on one of your videos and I just wanted to thank you for your great work and genuire reactions. It's been awesome to see your love for them grow through time while trying to understand the deeper meaning behind their songs.

for the question about visuals for the intros, they perform for some stages. There's one legendary You and I stage with the Intro. you can find the video pretty easily because its the one where its raining and theres a coffin

You're totally right about their relay dances; you really need to watch them multiple times to catch everything, because you can't _just_ focus on whoever's in front. I love how they sporadically fan out to flank the lead member, or pop out to pull faces, or do some extra move while heading to the back of the queue.
At this point, Siyeon still has quite short hair (it's actually been short since a little after Deja Vu); the black is her real hair, all the blue is extensions.
Dami's hair got gradually shorter till it reached a peak with Piri (which, I've gotta say, was a _look),_ then she's pretty much been growing it back ever since.
The volume _always_ goes up for Break the Wall.
Agreed; I love that distorted effect in the early song. I get the Evanescence reference, I guess they're better known, but for me I get really strong early-mid noughties Lacuna Coil ( I saw them several times in that era) vibes.
I get what you mean about the English; often (I guess because they're not native English speakers) English lyrics can seem stilted or not quite make sense. Indeed, some of DC's lyrics do fall prey to this. With Can't Get You Out of My Mind, though, they brought in Maddox as a co-lyricist, and he was born and spent his early years in Britain (born in Wales, and lived in the south of England till he was 10), so it's much more natural-sounding.
It took a couple of listens for me to really get the song too, but I pretty much guarantee it's a grower.
Dami's accent here isn't really an affectation as such. Obviously people learning English as a second language will develop _some_ kind of accent, largely based on how they learn it. Yoohyeon has more of an American twang when she speaks it, many members of Stray Kids are developing an Aussie accent because of learning from Chan and Felix.
Dami, meanwhile, tends to favour more of an English accent. At their most recent London fansign, she said she's developed an interest in British accents, and we had fun getting her to try some of our more extreme ones... 😂
I bet you'd love the version they did in their Crossroads: Utopia concert on Dongie's birthday; the whole set was done with a live band (on both nights), but the Friday's Utopia concert was a very relaxed affair, with very little dancing and not an EDM drop to be heard...
Dear is a _stunning_ song, and JiU was working on it for a good while. They were on an episode of RUN.WAV in 2019 (Deja Vu promo era), and JiU showcased part of a song that she'd been writing. It was beautiful, but I don't think it had a name at the time, and I don't think any of realised the significance of it at the time. (I can't find the episode, but here's a video showing a bit of it: ruclips.net/video/yxWSOA1Ue88/видео.html ) About a year later, it was released as Dear on this very EP, and we realised just how much it was for _us..._ 😭
For your intro question about intro: as far as I know they've only performed intro together with their title track performance are Fly High and You & I.

Sadly they don't really perform intros that much, the one and most iconic ones they did was during Dream Concert 2018. As for their relay dances, they tend to go a little crazy and if you're going to watch them all, prepare to get your heart rate up, lol! If you wanna really appreciate Break The Wall minus the visual distractions, ^_^ then I'd suggest watching the one they performed during their concert.

The reason why K-pop started using English mixed is simple.
It is much more free to match rhymes and flows.
Originally, it was used mainly in the rap part, but now, the vocal part also uses Korean and English to match the rhyme or flow.
In addition, as K-pop began to be consumed worldwide, beyond what is now only consumed in Korea or Asia, there is a part that has increased the proportion of English for overseas fans.
The main reason is that rhyming and flow are easy to match, so sometimes the sentence structure seems to be out of order, but the reason is pure.
It is not a mistake but a intentional one because it is to match the tone of the song.
I thought the same thing about Can't Get You Out Of My Mind after the first few listens because I dislike that kind of dance-type of music especially during the drop in the chorus but the vocals won me over in the end. They're so good. If you saw their concert last Friday, they performed a very different version of this song and it was stunning. I'm obsessed with that version now.
Break the Wall is what dragged me into the black hole of Dreamcatcher) One of my favorites. I recommend you to watch the recording of the performance of this song from the showcase where they just stand and sing and such an amazing energy comes from them.
They have sum performances that uses their intro song as their intro before they perform their title track ^-^

They like to have a bit of Engrish in their songs, like in Can't Get You Out Of My Mind there's "It's getting too stronger, my feelings for you".
Given their access to fluent English speakers I have to assume they do it on purpose... 😁
All english. They use this a lot including background music. This blew me away they all do pretty well with English so they sound great. The producers Ollounder does mostly lyrics and LEEZ does the melody, from what I gather.
Can't get you outta my mind is clearly a test of doing music in English. I would say nearly all of their intl fans speak or understand english. For me, I was so glad to hear it. It seems you only see Korean groups doing foreign like Japanese or Chinese. Rarely English. The only time you see 100% English songs from kpop groups is when they are getting ready to do a full album. And I say why not. In this case, DC would show much love to their fans by doing an album in English. Like BOA. I love BOA, btw, and heard her english album before her Korean music. Come September, I do expect something, but I don't know what. September is the Fab Fives 7 year contract moment. Have they resigned back in the beginning of DC 4 years ago, aligning with the 2 newbs or are they going to or will they start something new in September. I would go for an English album with a tour across North America and Europe.
Those who actually give DC a chance find themselves their biggest fan. That was me and nearly everyone else who listens to them. I have only seen a few reactors NOT fall in love with them and their music. You can tell by the deep dive into them almost to a reactor. You know they are the real deal when metal reactors (like suite charity) fall hard and stop putting up death metal reacts to run all of DCs stuff. I fell in love at work. I heard their debut (not too huge of a fan of MINX - not my style of kpop) while working a reject belt and I typically moved as fast as the beat of the music. I kept it fast. I also thought that Dreamcatcher will be ignored or even attacked by Knetz and others because they were fighting the Cute or Girl Crush styles. I was wrong in a way. HUGE intl fan base gives them love and respect to make up for the SK elitist kpop snobs. Wins or not, they are #1 in my book.
There's nothing wrong about being into a certain band in a certain period of time. Especially if that band is one as complete and awesome as Dreamcatcher. And let me remark complete, because this mini-album, as well as the Dystopia LP, is full of different sounds and genres, for all kinds of InSomnias
PS: I love the fact that I'm not the only InSomnia who doesn't really like EDM-y songs. And it's a pity, a song like "Can't get you out of my mind", played as they did in their acoustic Crossroads concert, could perfectly be in my top 15 DC songs. However, I have it more or less in the 30th position (over 51 songs). I still love the intro and the pre-chorus, though. And the fact that it's fully written in English and dedicated to all of their fans
PS2: All things considered, this mini-album could perfectly be my favourite of all, tied with "Escape the Era" and closely followed by "Raid of Dream"
PS3: If you liked "Break the Wall" wait to listen to their last Japanese EP, "Eclipse". As usual for their Japanese releases, the three songs in it use a lot of Metal elements. But the most mind-blowing of them is the third song. If "Eclipse" and "No More" sound a lot like the J-Rock we saw in songs like "Chase Me" or "Good Night" (but heavier), "Don't Light my Fire" is unlike anything these girls have ever sung. Just a little tip about it: the composer is Finnish

"Break the Wall" definitely has that classic rock feel. And "Dear" is so precious. I wonder if you'd have the same reaction to their Seven Spirits live performance of it. Even if it was the same song, it had a hilarious vibe to it.
Since "BOCA" is one of your favorite title tracks, I definitely recommend giving "July 7th" off their Alone in the City mini album a listen through. It has that groovy beat to it. They have a special clip of it on their official channel as well as a self made mv show champion.

The reason why it's working it's because they actually wrote English lyrics lol, like i don't really like when kpop artists try to do an english song out of a korean one because most of the time they just translate the lyrics and it doesn't really work with the melody and the lyrics don't make sense. The only korean to english song that i like it's star by loona, you can see they did not just translate the lyrics, they wrote new ones and it turned out really well
