- What a way to start 2025... This week, I'm planning out my February to get back on track with my writing goals. January was... a month that happened lol, but even through the chaos, there were some really great moments. I'm excited to get to planning February to get back on track because I feel so scrambled after such a busy January. I'm hoping to get recentered as I set out to accomplish my writing goals this year.

I lead a writing workshop for veterans and this week we had a similar conversation. I got asked 'should I keep writing this?' and I told the person that yes, if they felt called to write the story, they had to write the story, for themselves, not for anyone else (especially a first draft and a first-time author). It can be hard but it can be cathartic. And some of us just *have* to write, it's a compulsion...I'm puttering away on the second half of my first draft of my third novel in my first series. 🙃
I love this so much! That’s exactly what I’ve discovered for myself. I have to write or else it builds up in my mind and I feel overwhelmed, so you’re right it can be cathartic.
