  • Blue Peter Model Railway, November 1994 (VHS). Apologies for quality, but from very old VHS. Also another episode of Diane Louise Jordan on a loco footplate.

I'm astonished they still had the original layout in 1994. The last time Iremember seeing it was with John Noakes in the early 70s. Watched Blue Peter through the 70s and into the 80s but I never saw it again. Just disappeared, like Bleep and Booster, never to be seen by me again. What happened to Bleep and Booster?

No it was repaired in 1996 after the accident and ran mainline until 2002 then moved to North Yorkshire Moors until it's boiler certificate ran out, then on to Darlington Museum and finally Crewe where it's being restored to mainline condition.

I like how he calls the big engine Gordon in reference to the series "Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends".

One of the WD 2-10-0's was called Gordon, No 600. I suspect this was it at that time, though now is not running (but cosmetically restored). If you google "Longmoor Military railway Gordon 600" you'll find more details.

@@DrAl60103 I understand that this Gordon is still owned by the British Army.
