I'm struck by Jason Williamson mentioning Oh Sees. I'm a huge Oh Sees/John Dwyer fan. Dwyer lives just up the road from me in LA, in fact. He's a creative, productive maniac. Of course I love Sleaford Mods. I listen to both bands almost constantly, alternating between to two. They're very different from each other but somehow there's a line between the two that I'm at a loss to explain. Opposites on a spectrum but on the same spectrum nonetheless. They complement each other, I think. To me Sleaford Mods and Oh Sees are the two best current music makers in the world. To see them both on the same concert bill would be fucking amazing. I'm bummed Sleaford Mods can't make it to LA this time because of COVID 19. Listening to them has been the soundtrack to get me through these surreally fucked up, depressing days of this fucking awful year.
I did 12 steps 12 + years ago, was drinking and toking all the time, made me depressed as hell..feel loads better now. "I suffer from "..depression is the human condition..we all need basic simple spiritual inner fine tunning..and then we can feel content 24/7..'cos we lot do. (saves a packet on psycho therapy).
Love JW brutal honesty more more bravo........say it as you see it less bullshit more humour, humility and directness. Dont fuck about just say it fuck em!!
I love Jason, have massive respect. However, it's disconcerting a little bit to have to absorb the harsh reality that he's kind of a normal person, not so much that manic wildman he plays in the Mods. Merry Christmas to him and the interviewer.
He was a manic wildman when he was on the drink and drugs. I’m from Nottingham and met him through a friend of a friend. His only the way he is now through sobriety
