Cutting and Prepping Elk In The Field with Randy Newberg, Hunter (Part 1 of 3)

- Randy Newberg and his Fresh Tracks crew are in Wyoming where they have taken an elk that needs to be prepared in the field for proper care during the remainder of the hunt and for the pack out. In this video you see the quick manner in which we do this.
For more details of this gutless method, go to - • How to Field Dress Elk...
Field processing requires good knives, game bags, and knowledge of how you intend to care for your meat when you get it home. The cuts you make while quartering and boning an animal while in the field are the same cuts you will make when you have the animal at home on your cutting table.

I met Randy, Mark, and Nolan once.
They stayed at our lodge.
Super nice folks.
Looks like nothing went to waste! Which is awesome, even the tongue was collected! Awesome stuff guys, nothing is worse than people wasting the animal
Two lamas looking at each other. “Dude Billy don’t be stubborn today” 😂 😂
🤣🤣🤣

Great video! I didn’t grow up hunting so I’ve had to learn much of the process on my own and your videos have been extraordinarily helpful. I honestly can’t thank you enough for your channel.
Thanks for watching. Hope you have a great season.
Randy is realist that's what makes a good hunting show ,Thank you Guys!
You guys are attacking that like true pros. Having nice clean snow a real benefit.
I enjoyed all 3 videos very much. This basic information will be especially helpful for some who has never gone through the entire process before.
The Scott Rea Project has that in greater detail. Thanks for watching.
My goodness that actually looks good. Elk jerky, elk ribs, elk burgers all sound tasty right now
Randy Newberg and the crew! Thanks you guy very much for all the video you guy published. I love watching you guys and video on all these hunts, it change my hunting lifestyle each in every year by learning more and more from you guys. The experience of what you guys have an done I'm impressive, keep it up and never give up! I have never taken and elk before in this life time, dont even know how it taste. I always wanted one and give it a try, but just dont know how to. Anywase thanks you guys so much for all these tip.
Leave for Wyoming on Friday for first elk hunt. Its just a cow this season, but its practice and preparation for a bull next season. Your videos have been a big help in getting all the right supplies together and of course learning what to do in the field. The last year of watching has been a huge help and very entertaining as well. Thanks for all the great videos and tutorials! This East Texas hunter feels ready to get out in the field!
Thanks for watching. I hope you have a great hunt.
Djenxz and
Love your videos and hunting trips with Beau and the Llamas .
Those llamas are way better than any horses I've ever used for hunting!! Great idea!!
I could sit and watch these videos all day
I hope you do. J/K. Thanks for watching.
Sure, it beats working, bro!!!)))
The best hunting show I have ever watched !!!!
Glad to hear that. Thanks for watching.

Man, those llama must be terrified. Great video!
Dude cuts off the tiniest piece of loin. Gives his buddies one bite a piece.
Leupold picked the right host for this show. So great.
Kind of you to say that.
That the best hunting show I have seen y'all are the only ones I dress a kill, I enjoy watching that.
Bye for the most interesting video I've watched today. Great content, thanks for sharing.
I miss you, Montana!
One of the lamas in the back must be like:
"Holly fuck!!! That's it dude.....we're next. They're gonna butcher us dude. We're done."
Love your vids. I watch most. But I will watch every minute of every video that contains llamas. Those are the coolest pack animals ever.
Thanks. I agree. They are as cool as it gets.
Wow that is good guys
Always walk with a little packet of salt, black pepper, garlic powder and onion powder mix. Salt obviously to taste. Rub on almost anything you roast. Just a drizzle goes a long way. Really guys you made me hungry. Beautiful video, little or no wastage.
Absolutely a great video. Marshall!!!!!!!
I'm gonna buy Marshall if Beau is willing to sell him.
Lamas must be like “Dammmm” !!
🤣
"We'll be good, we promise!" -Lama's
My husband hunts in the Bighorns in Wyoming. Nothing like good healthy elk.
Llamas are my new favorite animal. So darn cool. Great video....as usual.
If you hunt with them, you will like them even more.
Awesome. Lamas are great pack animals.
Those llamas are in shock watching you carve those animals.
SpliffSized nah man. That Elk wasn’t part of their Clique ruclips.net/video/2c9tUUz4avg/видео.html
I'm sniper too
Very nice keep it up
Thanks guys! I've seen vids of dressing an animal and at home butchering, so this series will be great for me!
I go CO Elk 3rd season leaving tomorrow to unit 43 where I grew up at Placita, at the base of McClure's pass. I'be watched all your previous vids in prep as this is the year I can finally stay longer (kids). Wife was uncorked when I let her know an elk won't show up in neatly butcher bags but quarters, organs and tongue like I grew up.
Can't wait for the rest of the vids!
Hope you have good luck in CO.
Wow that looks so fn good! Fresh and hot off the rock, loved it!!
It was good. Really good.
Great video. Jump cut video edits right to bags. Super informative.
Love the Lama's, hate the lack of processing footage.
I’m from Canada’s Northwest Territory, we boil the tongue and cut it into thin strips, it’s considered a delicacy
I always boil the heart and tongue in slightly salted water... cut it up very thin, its delicious. I just eat it like that with nothing else, it's the best. Delicacy
Those llamas are strong! I struggle to pack out just one leg by myself
Bozemanite here, great channel
Thanks for watching. Good luck thsi season.
that backstrap meat looks so tender when he's pulling it apart after done cooking, i am hungry!
It is. I ate some elk last night and it reminds me of how lucky I am.
My biggest surprise was when I saw the llamass jajaja excellent video.
I have been looking forward to these processing videos...thanks
Thanks for watching.
Now that's how fresh killed meat should be eaten. It taste so good in the field!
It was fantastic.
Those llamas are awesome
Llamas Rock!
Nice... Back to nature...
I feel like hunting
Then go out and get yourself sum !!
I wonder what the llamas are thinking. "At least it's not us. Better not break a leg or it might be us." It's a good thing you have them. Are they as good or better than mules?
Isso é que vida boa hein. Fiquei com água na boca valeu caçadores
Proteína pura , vida boa
Thank you for your food report.
This is one of my goals I want to do
What a catch boy's. .have fun
Great work, as always, guys! Really enjoying your show. (...although we have good access to public hunting here in Norway as well ;-) One question: Do you prefer the small or the big Gerber folding knife for prepping big game?
randy i met you in hampton inn in boise! i was one of the people on the elevator when you were walking by!
Wish I would have had more time to visit. Thanks for watching.
@@Fresh_Tracks really no problem! got meet one of my heroes!
Great Video !!!!!
Those llamas sure can carry a lot.
Sure can.
با سلام شما میرن کوه شکار رو میزنید قشنگ بشینید اونجا درست حسابی کباب بازی کنید بعد برید خونهتون عالی بود ممنون از این برنامه خیلی زیبا
Great video and hunt !
Only llamas I have known were total unworked with assholes. They could swing their head around and spit right in your face as soon as they didnt like something. These guys look well trained and useful. Huge difference between trained and super spoiled pasture pet with no manners taught.
Nice hunt. Although lama was told what’s gonna happen if he doesn’t continue to be a good boy 😄
Llamas 🦙 are cool with it because they are just grateful they can be useful to hunters and remain alive. 😂
Lama neck warmers! So cute!
Very neat video, thanks.
Pretty site. Great field dress. Good eating
I am from Ethiopia and I love your videos. why don't you invite me there?
What kind of knives did you guys use to process the elk...
What is the condition of the closed tongue freighters, we will deliver the meat to the destination free of charge
Great video. I was waiting for you guys to get around to that. Would it be possible to do that if it was only one person instead of 3, without hanging it? I noticed you guys broke the entire elk down pretty easily. It just seems like it might be a bit tougher alone.
It is tougher alone, but I have done it solo, many times. Just requires a bit more planning as you probably can't move it around much by yourself.
And you are right bro. I've been hunting alone for years now and learned that you need some equipment(pullies, ropes, whinch, etc.)so you can handle a big animal like moose, or elk, all alone.
Star of the show lamas
That's awesome,
🤩
Thank you for reality. You guys are awesome. Just watched a show from one of the other boys, they shot a deer bedding. Not happy with that.
Thanks for watching.
Wow so awsome job i really like it 👍👍👍👍
Did you pack out the bones? I find the bone broth from an animal this size can feed you for a month.
Good Frend 👍
This summer I tried elk brats and rattlesnake brats loved the elk brat but the snake was a little iffy 😂
I need to try snake some day.
Good work 👌
И тут ламы как из мультфильма очень красивые 🤗
Is it worth packing a new nice clean tarp to put in the ground so you have a clean place to put the cuts of the animal as you work?
Yes. We now do that, thanks to the Hunter's Tarp from Caribou Gear - www.caribougear.com/collections/hunters-tarps
@@Fresh_Tracks thanks for the tip!
Awesome 😋
This is so cool!
I'm sniper on bed this guy small coxk shit
Does the llama closest to randy have a prosthetic leg? Th3 bottom looks like theres nothing there.
HAAAAA ROBO LLAMA. Nope, just a weird camera angle.
I wonder where they put the rest of the carcass, ribs and all that, get pushed out?
It was great with Chivas I feel ummy 😘
Looks delicious
It was.
ke video tan chingon en ke parte del mundo fue grabado....
So gooooooooooood food
That’s fantastic
Is it just me or did half the snow around the lake melt between them shooting the elk and packing it out
Going to add llama to essential hunting gear
Hey Randy just curios what size of a cooler ( Qt.Size 1 Cooler) to fit a boned out Bull Elk Meat in ?
I trimmed very fine, I can fit it in an 85 qt and a 65 qt and have room for ice. I usually add a lot of ice, so I put it in an 85, plus two 65s.
Thanks for answering my Question Randy Good to Know!
I like how you guys cut out the part where his runs that knife along the stone to cut his own piece 😉
Those alpacas at 3.12 wtf they are killers🤣🤣🤣
good lookin lamas right there
They are.
That llama probably scared shitless watching this whole thing
Mana nih yang nonton orang INDONESIA.....
LIKE YAA 😄😄😄
Those llamas have seen many atrocities lol
should you be on the lookout for bears/wolves while cutting up an animal in the wild?
Bears are usually asleep by then wolves cougars and other predators? Possibly
Just love listening to people smack their food....
Try tounge tacos with green salsa ohhh brother...
