Late comment I know: this will help, but its not the only thing to practice. Do this first. Once yuo stop falling in immediately, its time to move on. A good K1 paddler in rough water will mainly hold themselves up with the paddles. Can you use the blade int he water to push or pull yourself left and right. That way once you loose the perfect balance point, you just naturally get your weight back in position. Trying to stay perfectly balanced 100% of the time is impossible and would stop you being able to paddle naturally and fluidly.
this is much harder than it looks, especially without a paddle in your hands to aid with balance. amazing
