  • How to find / identify physical features on a contour map / topographic map. This is a more summarized version of my other Topo map relief features posted last year. The contour lines on such a map can indicate the following: concave and convex slopes, hills, mesas, valleys, spurs, escarpments, plateaus, volcanoes, ridges, saddles, cliffs, etc.

    I was taught that a lowland is below 500ft and a highland is 500ft and above. But some books are saying different things. I want to know the exact figures for highlands and lowlands ranges from.
