    Really liked and gonna follow :)
    but it is funny that most plants from a channel with evergreen on name are in fact deciduous

    • @ggevergreenbonsai1259
      @ggevergreenbonsai1259  Год назад

      I know. There was a few reasons why I chose that name. My company name Evergreen is in respect of my late husband. One of our favourite songs was ‘Evergreen’ by Barbara Streisand and that my love for each other will never die. Also to see if a tree is still alive you scratch the bark to see if the cambium layer underneath is green.
      So essentially the evergreen is about keeping something alive as well as being my favourite type of trees.
      I hope this helps to explain my name choice.
      Thank you Carlos for watching and commenting on my video 👍😃

      It's strange isn't it. We had ice and snow a few days ago and had to take some of my repotted trees into the greenhouse. They don't know what is going on due to the mild winter.

      @@ggevergreenbonsai1259 yes, same here. 3 days of constant snowing in march, a total of 40 cm snow. On the ground for a week and now it feels like spring again.

    You haven’t posted a video in a while and wanted to check your okay?

      I’m ok thank you Andy. I’m just really busy at the minute. I’m moving my bonsai to a local garden centre so I’ve been organising, repotting and labelling bonsai. Designing the area etc. I’m going to do workshops with bonsai, succulents and terrariums so I’ve been doing promotional stuff including creating a website. I’ve also been doing wedding fairs to hire out bonsais.
      Doing most of it myself so I’ve been too busy to film and edit at the moment. Hopefully it will calm down soon so I can create a video. I’ve got a large acer and hornbeam to air layer so hopefully do them first. I’ve even been too tired to watch any videos as I keep falling asleep on an evening.
      How are you?

      @@ggevergreenbonsai1259 wow not surprising your tired Gail.
      Really best of luck with all of that Gail.
      Hope it really takes off for you.
      What’s the name of the garden centre?
      I’ll try and bye something if I can this year !!
      Don’t burn yourself out. Remember slow and steady is key 👍👍👍👍👍

    5:45 Is this a larch?.. my mother-in-law has a bonsai like this but she does not know what it is... If its a larch do you know what type?

    • @ggevergreenbonsai1259
      @ggevergreenbonsai1259  Год назад +1

      The main way to differentiate between the two species is the colour of the new twigs in winter; Larix kaempferi has a reddish colour whilst Larix decidua is yellow. Paroxysms Kaempferi is the Japanese Larch and Larix Decidua is a European larch. Hope this helps Jay 😊

      @@ggevergreenbonsai1259 that's super helpful I will have a look for her next time I visit.. They make beautiful bonsais I adore the little cones.. Do the little cones hold seeds? Sorry hope you don't mind me asking lol I don't know much about Larch 🙏🙏

    • @ggevergreenbonsai1259
      @ggevergreenbonsai1259  Год назад +1

      I have a lot of larches. In the video the first and third are Japanese larch. Ideally you should remove the new cones. They look like white or pink flowers at first as they use up a lot of energy. Leaving a couple is fine. You can see a white one starting on the third one. The large brown cones are dead, so not using any energy up. I would imagine they’ve got seeds, but I’m not sure to be honest.

      @@ggevergreenbonsai1259 Ok thats really helpful thank you.. I will rewatch the video again and then visit me mother-in-law and have a look or get her to take some photos for me lol.. Last time I noticed the cones were brown so i'll let her now.. I'll see if I can pinch one and examine inside the cone lol. Thank you so much its been bugging me but bugging her more. She has a few big bonsais in the back garden that were my father-in-laws but he past away sadly a couple of years back. Thank you again 👍👍🙏
