I went into my grave a nobody. I was a wastelander, a wanderer, a drifter. The nicest name anyone ever gave me was Courier, so I looked to see where that name would lead me. It led me into a shallow grave on the outskirts of Goodsprings, Nevada. I wasn't important to Mr. House. I didn't matter to the NCR. The Legion didn't care about me. The most I ever made of myself was that I ended up carrying something that was so valuable, I was about to get killed for it. And I did get killed for it. Or, at least, the person I was got killed for it. A nobody was buried in the dirt outside of Goodsprings. Someone else was dug up and stuck back together.
But the courier wasn't a nobody, the courier was the NCR's monster who made the divide but in that small town just south vegas that monster died and out came someone new, free to choose their own path.

Please never let new vegas die. Ive listened to the same tracks for several years, and theyre only so much older then that, and they NEVER get stale. The art and humor everyone makes out of this game practically SCREAMS for a glowup remaster of the game. The fandom is just so strong for the overflowing charisma this game has

I played it for the first time last year. I consider myself a fan of RPGs and have played quite a few. New Vegas gives you the most player agency, especially in regards to main quest content, out of any other RPG I've ever played. You can join whatever faction you want, you can join a faction and then decide to abandon them for a rival faction halfway through, or avoid factions altogether and decide to try and pull everything off solo. I remember changing teams 3 different times as I learned more about the various players and their motivations and it didn't break the game.
Never ... NEVER REPLICATE , REMAKE A CULT CLASSIC.... To do so is to remake ,reinvent what was near perfection in first place. Never remake a cult game or movie.. Cause it loses all its original magic that it had to begin with. Very few sequel movies have been good as or better than the original. Can you imagine if they re made Casablanca, if they re made Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket... Look what they did with Total Recall and Robocop...And Bad Lieutenant... Complete duds compared to the originals.
They knew they couldn’t make a newer on because they knew the fallout fans would crush Bethesda for one detail missing from the game because the only people who hate fallout more than anyone is fallout fans
thanks for finding this version of the song, for some reasons the version availible on streaming in my country and in nv gets suddenly REALLY loud with audible compression near the start of the brass solo, like your ears just popped.

What I like the most about the art is actually how beautiful the Mojave evening sky is. This entire display of the many flavors of New Vegas is all framed as something in a grave, something below the force which destroyed it, which itself is below the indifferent cosmos. In New Vegas, every faction represents a different form of civilization, and the ways they died. You see the power and general good of the NCR, the desire for a place of democracy and freedom like what once was before the war, and the corruption that will bring it down just like it did the first time. The Legion, a type of culture from ancient history, will eventually be brought low in the same way when their great leaders perished, falling to any and all forms of division and chaos. Those two factions look back, while an Independent Vegas is like having 2 weeks to live before an asteroid strikes, forgetting the past or future, and only living in the now. It has an air of fragility as Caesar's cult of personality did, only his didn't have an AI commanding his army which anyone could command at any time. Just another care to throw away with all the others. Mr. House is the faction that looks to the future, to carefully and firmly control the flow of civilization toward a better outcome than the first set of cultures and societies did, even if it means ignoring or causing suffering as the ends justify the means. But all of them, despite their warring philosophies and squabbling contests over who can or can't pave the way to a better tomorrow, fail to see the bigger picture, fail to realize that which maybe only a humble courier laying in his own grave might. As he looks past the silhouettes of it doesn't matter who anymore, through those familiar clouds like soft, rolling sand dunes, and up at the desert stars one last time, he has that same thought he's always had when it was time to cease his long travels and rest once again beneath their light: It's all so small from afar.
The art really makes me think about how Benny is simultaneously super important and super unimportant. You spend a long portion of the game hunting him down, with the strips glowing lights looming almost ominously on the horizon. Then you find him & he's just a shitty little coward who you can dispatch like nothing if you feel like it. He kicks the whole story off, but ends up being little more than a stepping stone on The Couriers path to greatness.
Every time I listen to this song it brings out a massive wave of nostalgia.By far New Vegas is one of my favourite video games of all time and I’ll forever cherish it
