Good video, I’d be interested in knowing the specifics from your decision letter: why they denied your first 2 claims.

While on active duty do the sleep study to find out if you have sleep apnea….if you do it is in your records.

100 % agree with you, Having the study done while still in the service will be a huge help to your claim.

recently rated 50% for sleep apnea secondary to Tinnitus. What is the likely hood of the VA reevaluating and taking my rating away in the future for OSA?

Pretty rare to happen. I recommend keep using the CPAP machine. The VA does track you using the machine. Keep up with your appointments and let VA know when you need new supplies. Let me know if you need any other help!!

@@edsinconsultation1895 I've been using a cpap for the last 5 years after being diagnosed after my primary health care doctor suggested a sleep study. If i want to keep my job, i must use a cpap or i get denied a D.O.T medical card for driving. I contacted the VA about getting supplies and a new machine but was told they are so backed up it may take years to get a cpap and supplies because of a re-call on the cpap machines so i just buy everything myself.

Did you have a nexus tying it to tinnitus?

@@dsmith2858 Hey, the nexus to the Tinnitus was exposure to noise. I was artillery my first 5 years.

@@edsinconsultation1895 roger, thanks. My comment was directed to “no better friend” as he got his sleep apnea secondary to his service connected tinnitus.

I recently read that Gulf War Veterans are more likely than other Veterans to have sleep apnea. Is that accurate?

Thanks for reaching out. It really depends; I don't believe that the condition is related to a specific deployment or geographical area of operations. Many service members have the condition and have not deployed. I know service members that were only on Reserves status, and no deployments and have the condition. Also, remember that sleep apnea is also related with sleep disorders that can be link to PTSD. Let me know if you need any other help.
