Is the Ultra worth it? Or would you rather go for the 12S Pro?
I allways wanted to buy the pro... I don't have an overkill need for the camera... I don't think most people even use it.... Anyway I will buy the pro also because the price difference is too steep for the ultra.. Not that I can't afford it just not value for what we are getting 300+ for one lens is not a good deal
Nah. The pro version is more pratical for work and day-to-day use. The ultra is like 'hype for the camera' but thats all. Plus u have a slower charge battery.

I'd go for pro model too, but curved display and tall aspect ratio are my two hesitance for xiaomi 12/s series, I much prefer flat and more rectangular ratio (like in s22+ or 13pro max). Excellent review, nonetheless...

Same im tired of tall 20:9 aspect ratio,
about the downloading camera features part, its there cuz peopl are freaking out when the see the storage space taken by system or others in the file manager, so they made these downloadable so that u can download it when u need it and it wont take up the space without u really wanna use it. Same goes to the gallery app

This was going to be my choice amongst the three if it was coming to the international market. It's really impressive and you can't go wrong with it. I'm tired with those periscope cameras phones with their blurry pictures business
I also think it's a great phone but sadly it's just for the local market, for the intentional maker they sent us the 12t pro.

Although I've set my mind to purchase the ultra but i think that one thing you've said wrong is the speaker quality. I know they are not super loud like iphones. But i think that Xiaomi s speaker is better in my opinion. iPhones speaker is more flat kind of . Maybe you're a long time iphone user . So can't accept or find it that Xiaomi s speakers are better or not. So I'm not gonna say anything in that. Btw nice review. 🙂

Hey thanks for the comment! It's actually not about the volume for me. It's about the depth and layers of sound the iPhone can achieve, where as the 12S Pro, specifically, I feel really can't compete. But, each to their own.

im looking at the 12s ultra over the iphone 13 as well. just haven't gotten a lot of feeback regarding the aelfie camera if it's good enough

Very honeslty ! I went to the xiaomi store and checked both phones, indeed forget the ultre! It's hiped because of that 1inch sensor, but it doesn't deliver much in addition of the phone looking like an old computer hard drive! I'd go for the 12s pro or even the 12pro, since the only difference is the laica filters! which you can have on the 12pro on some apps! Phone companies tend to release the same phones under different names or different design, just to use their old hardware and overprice it!

As Much As I Love XIAOMI~Theyve Sadly Faltered Lately Since The REDMI NOTE 9 Series... Underwhelming Display Sizes~Battey & Processors...This Phone Is A Good Example Of That...It Looks SO Nice~Especially With With Practically No Bezel Curved 6.7 Inch Display[I Ironically Had To Go Look That Up]...But A 4600mAh Battery~In A Time When Batteries Are At Least 5000mAh??????? Sad... Especially For That Price!...

Mediatek sucks. Most of their phones are stuck with 4k30. Sd625 did 4k30.

mediatek 9000 was overheating and throttle, unlike mtk 8100.

I don't believe it can out perform 13 Pro Max in term of batterry life, eps without gaming. 13 Pro Max simply the best battery life of all flagships. I'm using both 13 Pro Max + Redmi K50!
It actually does. Even beats the Redmi K50 (D8000). Despite the larger battery.

I am planning to buy mi11 ultra . I feel like 12s pro is not worth the upgrade but if you could buy xiaomi 12s ultra dont hesitate.
The price for the hardware that you get currently on the mi 11 ultra is amazing, but the big downside is the snapdragon 888 is a overheating mess and not optimized, plus there was reports of the first batches the wifi board being fried after 1 year due to heat, if you want to risk it go ahead.
If they would have made a mi 11 ultra with the same camera setup but the snapdragon Gen 1 plus it would be a no brainer purchase.

Indeed the speaker quality has gone completely downhill with xiaomi. I think the mesh that helps waterproofing the speaker has seriously messed up the sound output. Similar to Sony phones with the IP rating. I would try and poke it if i had the money to waste on a device

you’ll have to Bluetooth your vpn app apk from your old phone to your new one. Install it, turn it on, download the Google play apk and then install it. Pretty simple actually

That’s just the frame rate of the camera clashing the refresh of the screen. You don’t see that in real life with your eyes. It’s only the camera
