- Cam Newton offers his perspective on how a $200 million NFL contract should be managed wisely. He advises on balancing long-term financial security with smart spending, emphasizing the importance of investing in meaningful assets rather than flaunting extravagant purchases. Cam underscores the value of making strategic investments in properties and future endeavors, while also maintaining a balanced lifestyle. He suggests that Jordan Love and Tua Tagovailoa, both of whom are navigating significant contracts, could benefit from this approach to ensure their financial stability and success beyond their playing careers.

Cam, your conversation and thought process on NFL contracts is thorough, astute, and 'real world'.
not too accurate tho. mahomes signed the richest contract in history 4 years ago. 10 years 503m. his cap hit is over 60m the next 3 years. he didn't take any pay cut. now there's some guys making more per year but assure you he'd be the highest paid per year had his contract been up today
All current and future ball players and their family's should be watching this. Your knowledge and personal experience on this subject is invaluable. Keep it coming
Nah Cam's podcast is underated. This man is performing on here😂😂😂 And I don't even care for football but I will be tuned in
He’s literally calling out all the heavy checks in the league. “You’re the reason your team is either losing or winning.” That’s a tough toll to handle.
He called out Kansas City.. LOL.
Cam said “I’ve never seen a Super Bowl ring pay a bill” …Damn that puts shit in perspective, yes you want the glory and the accolades but it’s a business and a lifestyle and a job and just like everyone else.. you gotta get paid to keep the lights on
It’ll pay a bill if you sell it 😅
@@hoodie5004 Lmaoo

@@hoodie5004that depends on the bill
It's not like everyone else when they earn more in a year than you'd do in multiple lifetimes lol. They just have to not be stupid and they'll be well off their entire lives.
The Broncos are paying 50+ million to a QB that’s not even in the team ..
The Fuk 😩😩

"Open up that bill folder" 😂

“I just gotta let it breathe Peggy god damn”😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Derek Carr won’t help my Saints do anything but land the 14th pick in next year’s Draft
And 2 Ls against the Dirty Birds
Boy stop @cbcbrown88
That's why they drafted a QB

Yup put tha 🍟’z in tha bag dawg yall suck
How can people hate this guy man😂 speaking truthfully with no hate towards the other qbs he talking about
“That’s that North Carolina Central?” .. 😂😂 24% being 1/5 is crazy! 🤦🏾♂️

I’m a born a raised saints fan, so Cam I wasn’t a fan. But now I am. Keep throwing out gems big dog.
Interesting and thought provoking topics. Unique insight to behind the scenes information. Keeping it fun while still intellectual in nature. Cam you have earned my sub and have quickly become my favorite football show.
When they changed the rule on rookie qb money right after Sam Badford got 70 ms Cam was up next should've got 100 ms
After listening to some of Cam shorts about the NFL. I really do see what he be talking about the league
This is what you gotta understand. CJ Stroud looks exceptional on a rookie deal. Your contract alone determines if you are a great player or bad player. No in between
Cam should been an NFL accountant
Ngl this isn’t rocket science but he broke it down pretty well for the casual fan.

Good thing that my Philadelphia Eagles players are all paid! #FlyEaglesFly 🦅🦅🦅🦅
That's probably why y'all didn't make the playoffs lol.. players that's tryna get paid play harder
Jordon Love after signing his big deal offseason
"Guys I'll get back to you after I miss the next 3-6 games of the season due to an sprained MCL".
This makes The Cowboys situation so much understandable if u want to win sombody got to take a pay cut if u care about winning u do that but when u done playing the money will be done too!!!
Makes you respect Bill Belichicks ability as a finance driven coach.
He called it 🤣 This season is showing it already
One week it’s a business and a team will replace you with another in no time.. now people getting paid it’s “should be get that money” Cam you spot on tho
Good point Cam,
Do you feel your contracts helped your franchise or hurt your franchise
The nfl owners and gms are geniuses they got the players getting backlashed for doing their job good and getting fair market value instead of GMs doing their job managing the cap while they escape free of blame
Fans are not logical. They don't even view the athlete's "job" as a job.
I don't think they are geniuses. Just fans don't look to blame them. I just think the problem lies between a contract for investment and thank you for your work may you keep it up. Problem is players don't know what can happen next month, year or years, so they feel they should get paid now. Rather than having a body of work they getting injured and no big contract. Now GMs fault lies in not working the system in most sports there are positions that need to be secured for years. Qb is that position so instead working on the cap money look at jersey sales or other incentives that are not to far out but also not to easy to reach.
Boog is good at what he do 👏
Keep that shit 1000 Cam 🤞🏾
Imma try my best to win , but i need the maximum baggie
I don't blame any athlete who does so
Good point all around, but it all comes down to one thing at the end of the day; everyone gotta do what’s best for them in the moment….like we all know, teams are gonna have to pay their players and it’s gonna eat up the pie not everyone is gonna have a slice and not everyone is gonna have the same size of the pie.
Yes if you’re gonna go get your first FA/extension contract swing big at your contract and get generational money..then take a pay cut in your 2nd/3rd contract (yet there are times when you can still be paid handsomely with 2nd/3rd contract)
On another note, Rodger & Stafford on a different level so they can afford to take pay cuts now. They were with the old CBA where they could negotiate their contract. Now there’s the rookie wage scale and draft slot compensation so it’s much different now.
Why did he change his mind about RBs in the end? 23:35
Lawrence will lead us to a top 5 pick, and thats the PEAK.
Just think what it was years ago when you drafted a QB high and what was paid then. If you didn't hit... it crippled the franchise for years...
Cam y'all betta put sum RESPECT on Trevor name frfr ( 😤 📢DUUUVVAALLL)!!!!!
I understand what cam is and I agree but it's something he's missing them contacts will look like team friendly deals in two to three years because the salary cap will continue to spike especially with these tech companies wanting to be in business with the NFL
Good points Cam, but Brady didn’t have to break the bank, his wife was making the money to pay the bills 😅 For the other QBs ,except Cousins and Dak, it’s probably their only chance to get paid. Imho.
The best players should get the most money, now it seems like if you are a qb, you are gwtting the bag no matter what. Every qb is getting paid and 85% aint good at all. There are like 5 qbs with a real capability of taking their team to the sb
These owners are going to get more craftier than ever signing these huge contracts. They got to when $80M is going into a QB/WR. Salary cap in 2024 is $255.4M. I get it that players want to get the bag but you don’t want to get killed out there on the field getting the bag because you got subpar, cap space saving line blocking you.
Cam in Peggy be tripping
NFL quarterbacks that aren’t top 5 and get paid like top 5 always get exposed.
4:45 that's some real shit
None of the qbs he is talking about is actually gonna get $200M. Him saying that shows his ignorance of how nfl contracts really work.
Cam also takes 20 minutes to say 5 minutes worth of content.
He never said they were moron
Howie Roseman paid two WRs plus Saquon and Hurts paid ✅🦅
The NFL is nothing like the NBA super teams are extremely hard to come by. You have to pay everybody. It’s more than just five guys on the field or on the roster.
Good conversation
I have more faith in Love being great than Tua. I know one thing ain’t nobody in this crop can even shine Mahomes’ shoes

@Donna_BD1 love sure misses though. 50% of em in fact. And half a good season. Yikes I'm seeing a theme 😮

WHY TF HE SAY CHIEFS FAN? MAHOMES A 1ST BALLOT HOF AND AINT EVEN 30 YET SMH!!!!!
He was naming all the recently signed big contracts and his list is or has to be made from the list of new signings, to include Mahomes. Mahomes is definitely a savior…who else on the list, is? Lamar is a savior, JA, Burrow etc

Hey cam is it true you where asked to be a back up to bryce yung?
I believe this video is for Dak! 😂😂😂 Dak is looking for another big bag, but his help needs their first big bag. Dallas no superbowl or playoff success Again!
Yay 😂
Brady was the ultimate sacrifice player being ultimate ever.
Dorks like to say he took cuts because his wife back then made more than him LMAO. Like he still couldn't have like 5 generations taken care of and living lavish on his own reduced salary anyway
@raider1297 right but he didn't take the salary that he was worth, what the market called for with his skills and accomplishments. 19 qbs make over 30 mill per year and are all set for life but that doesn't really matter because brady took less and it's a fact. did he hurt financially ? no but he could've asked for more that's for sure
The longer the Pat's dynasty is in the past the more i have respect for all the players that could have gotten paid a hell of a lot more, but were so brought into the "patriot way" that they took multiple deals below value
You may have more respect for them, and that’s good, however from their perspective , seeing nowadays money, they might take the money being offered now, for a even better retirement, instead of having to kiss alot of butts to make income after retirement, when they can be more astout investors.
@@jeanc11If you need to "kiss butt" after retirement because you made 20 million in your career and not 40, then you're TRASH managing money lmao
First of all, Tua don't deserve $20 million let alone $200 million
Based of some deals I think he is worth $43 million
Surely a decent QB can be got for €20mil by some team that never does anything....and then absolutely pack the roster with a great squad moneybag side; and that would be a huge success no!?
Money Ball style!
that qb would never take less than the market rate
under 25m gets you someone with a rookie contract or a bum. geno Smith makes 25m per year. minshew and darnold make 10-12m per year. no team is winning with them
OPEN UP DAT BILL FOLDER 📁 😂
Well the AZ cardinals have been sabotaged by the GM. But well see this year will see if little kyler got what it takes to save the franchise lol 🤣🤣
How does this affect the Chiefs
It do not
The dudes the should most be in the mole watch are Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Dak Prescott and Kirko why because there’s just to much tape on them, too many years of experience and no signs that they can even be on a Super Bowl.
This man done included an 2x MVP who's also still under 30 and just lost in the conference finals to the now current champion. Smh
@@cbcbrown88think about it though how Lamar looked at that AFC CG ? He was at his literal best coming from an MVP season and still shat the bed. Gotta held that man accountable because so far he has not delivered when the money is on the line
There is only 1 superbowl champ so if you think about. The other 31 qbs then failed and did not deliver. So u not gonna pay them cause they didn't win?
@@blackrocklee581 what are you talking about? Who said anything about him getting his money? Lamar has not show his worth in the playoffs he has been in a championship game only once and he did not deliver, so we are yet to find out if he’s that guy or if he is a liability for his team (a mole like cam said here)
Dak Prescott and Tua holding some cap space.
I’ll never understand why they don’t sign young quarterbacks to team friendlier deals before they start balling and ask for 60 million a season. The 49ers are screwed and they know it because there is no way they can sign Purdy to what he’s going to cost and keep their team together, the team around him is a major reason for his success, and he’s likely not good enough to carry them to where they’ve made it so far without that talent around him.
Yes he is. The rams game proved that he is capable of being a top tier qb without “the avengers”. The loss was on the defense and special teams in that game, not him
This video didnt talk about$200 million and players investing🤷🏾♂️
Defer like Bobby Bonilla
Nick Bosa*
Cam thanks for the insite on the business of sports.Greed is hurting the win loss of your team.the reason Brady was so good win alot was he was willing to take home less to win more.the pats were able to bring players in to make the team better.its a team sports everyone can live on the team..
the thing i don’t understand about nfl players and their philosophy surrounding money is that they all want their big contracts and like cam said “a super bowl won’t pay the mortgage” but don’t spend their money wisely. why do you need to buy a house that is half of your 20+ million yearly salary? if you’re a WR in the case of aiyuk and you made 15+ last year; why aren’t you content with signing another deal at the same pay? you can’t possibly be pressed for money. in the case of jamar chase, why does he need to try and shake up the market too? i know he hasn’t yet but if he does why? he knows that the team needs him, he knows that he can get a contract for probably as long as he wants, and he knows he can probably get a good amount of guaranteed money. why go for the 30+ million and take up another 15% of your teams cap when you could just sign for 20-25 and take up less than 10? they all made it to the big times and pretty much just have to do what they’ve been training for for their whole lives and they will never have to worry about money again. why not focus on making history in the sport or leaving a real legacy? they played through high school and most of them through college without making money and did it for the glory. why change?
It’s called growing up. HS and college and not pro leagues, so the attitude ought to reflect that. This is no longer some game though, they are grown and in the pro league. This is a business. No one should shy from being a good business guy. Why would he stick to 15mil when he can get 30mil?? He feels he outperformed his contract, and if the 49ers don’t want to pay him they should let another team do. Owners don’t get blamed much for doing business, neither should players. Also “legacy” is in the eye of the beholder. Maybe his financial legacy is more valuable to him, especially longterm than the “football legacy”. Fans care about the team, not players, & that’s okay, but ought to understand this is primarily a business and a sport secondly. Furthermore, most would like to have a greater financial legacy than football one, they get to see those that have the football accomplishments but not so much financially, and some would take the finances over everything else. If you’re okay with just staying at 15mil, fine,do you, that’s your money, now Aiyuk ain’t with that, and since that’s his money and body of work, his feelings are the only ones that matter. Superbowls don’t pay bills, and it’s a fallacy that winning will get you more outside of football. This applies to extremely few, not everyone is going to make 10mil a year on commercials for several years after they retire, when they are still players in the league who can generate far more traffic than retired one. Sponsors will chose the current players instead of retired ones because, well, this is a business first!!!
American greed 💯
Brady could take discounts because his ex wife made more than him as a top supermodel.
Sure. How could he pay the light bill if he was only making 15 million a year? Surely he would've starved to death without his wife's salary!
He was taking friendly deals before he was married to her

the best thing is to set a cap on contracts like 100 million at the most and rest of that money can be used to solve real social problems, nobody should earn that much money while at the same time half the usa cant pay their bills, shows how out of touch athletes are nowadays
